Former University of Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner will participate in everything except the bench press at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, but then have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Former Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner will have shoulder surgery after the NFL Combine.
Milliner sustained the injury during last season, and will not participate in Alabama’s Pro Day on March 13.
"The doctors have informed us that he will be 100 percent and fully recovered in time for training camp in July," said Tony Fleming, one of Milliner's reps with Impact Sports told ESPN Thursday morning. "We will be providing all NFL clubs information prior to surgery and updates close to the draft."
With numerous teams needing cornerback help and Milliner rated by many as the only first-round quality talent he could be a top-five selection in the upcoming NFL Draft
D.J. Fluker: Reportedly weighed in at 339 pounds, after being at 355 at the Senior Bowl.
Barrett Jones: Will not participate in any physical testing after having foot surgery.
Chance Warmack: Was 6-2, 317 pounds, with 34 6/8 inch arms.
Jones meets the media
Jones took his turn with reporters and said that most teams are talking to him about playing center, which is fine by him.
“I’ll play anywhere,” he said.
Jones is six weeks into a four-month recovery from having foot surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury.
“When you play in the SEC you get beat up,” he said, adding that the late finish to the season only added to so many Alabama players being unable to participate in combine drills due to injuries.
Although there were reports that the New York Giants are looking strongly at Jones, center appears to be an even stronger need for Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Indianapolis, New England and Washington.
When aked about maybe playing for the Packers, Jones said: “I’d love to play Green Bay, I’ll play for whomever drafts you, but that would be special being part of that tradition.
