Sounds to me like a convenient 'out' for them. They can tell their other commits that it was permissible because of Cyrus. If they gave Poggi preferential treatment it would probably come back and bite them as other commits wouldn't take their policy as seriously. So they're gonna try and make it appear as if Poggi is visiting Bama to see an old teammate, where in reality there is legitimate interest.

I asked the mods on the Michigan board about the Poggi visit and it was quickly deleted. I'm genuinely interested to know about this situation.

It should be cleared up by time the recruits and their families arrive in Tuscaloosa. Weather forecast says 60 degrees and sunny for Saturday. They can catch the parade too. Should be fun.

I have a feeling this little rule will be changed in the future. If you're going to lay down a rule about commitment, and then bend the rule for a higher profile kid, what does that say about your own commitment?
That's why you don't see Saban doing crap like this. I bet the first time he heard of it that him and staff had a big laugh at the next meeting....

R. Foster has been sort of "all over the board" to say the least, so does anyone "really" know what he's going to do.... Seems pretty simple to me, Alabama offered him, Nick and Kirby visited him at his home........all joking aside, if he doesn't commit to Alabama, he obviously doesn't want his best chance at winning? I guess I'm asking, what could another school offer him at present that Bama can't/hasn't?
