Even though it'll cost him a year of eligibility, freshman receiver Chris Black says he wants to play.

Good to hear that all has been vetted for Chris to give up the redshirt. I think BAMA really needs him out there since we lost Bell. Looking forward to seeing him out there and hopefully make some great grabs. RTR

Anytime you can add a potential playmaker to your lineup - Its a Good Thing. I hope whatever time the kid gets he's productive. Because we all know some fans, if he has any kind of error, will be yelling he should not be on the field. THIS is my only hope for him. Have fun, and just be who he is.

still shocking to me to see that alabama won 9 of 11 SEC championships. that is insane.

Real or not - fair or not - our Kicking game is somewhat viewed outside of Alabama as the only arguable weakness of this team. Now we know the reality of it is not so. This year we have had success out of the kicking game for the most part. Especially the kicks JShell is asked to do. He's been very consistent with what he has been called to do. But, the perception of last year hurts with some and the fact we have 2 kickers (regardless of how their used) takes away as well. Then add to that how much we score TD's compared to having to kick field goals and the numbers simply don't add up for either to be up for a true best kicker type award.
On the surface, when you think about BAMA Football, you don't really think about kicking being a weapon or strength for this team. Not like what is generally thought about by some others around the country.

Simple - Foster attempts all the long field goals and everyone knows it. It's kind of like people not wanting to vote for a pitcher for MVP because they don't play every day.
