Alabama has landed a huge commitment with Hoover (Ala.) five-star cornerback Marlon Humphrey tweeting that he has committed to the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder chose the Tide over Florida State.
"Thanks for everyone that has supported me this far I'm happy to say I am committed to the University of Alabama!! #RollTide," Humphrey tweeted on Wednesday.
"It was fun getting a chance to know some of these coaches from schools all around...but I'm just happy it's all over."
The blue chip corner tweeted, "So I finally decided where I want to go to school," minutes before announcing his decision.
The top corner was scheduled to take an official visit to UCLA this weekend, but sources close to the situation tell BOL that visit will probably not take place.
Humphrey becomes Alabama's 25th commitment in the class of 2014. He was recruited by Tide defensive coordinator, Kirby Smart. Humphrey joins 5-star early enrollee Tony Brown in giving the Tide 247Sports' top two-ranked cornerbacks in the 2014 class.
The son of former Alabama All-American running back Bobby Humphrey, Marlon ranks as the no. 10 overall prospect and no. 1 cornerback according to 247Sports. As a senior, he helped Hoover to a 15-0 record and class 6A state title.
