Opponent Power Rankings: Week 10

BOL's weekly power ranking of Alabama's 12 opponents for the 2012 season.

Zach Mettenberger will attempt to take LSU where its quarterbacks in 2011 couldn't: the end zone.

1.] LSU (Baton Rouge, Nov. 3)
Last week's ranking: 1
Tigers looking to post first touchdown against Alabama since 2010.
Up next: vs. Alabama (8-0, 5-0 in SEC), Saturday, 7 p.m. CT/CBS.

2.] Texas A&M (Tuscaloosa, Nov. 10)
Last week: 3
After dismantling Auburn, Aggies (6-2, 3-2) can secure Agricultural Cup with win in Starkville.
Up next: at Mississippi State (7-1, 3-1), Saturday, 11 a.m. CT/ESPN.

3.] Mississippi State (Oct. 27: UA 38, MSU 7)
Last week: 2
Reality greeted State (7-1, 3-1) in the form of the nation's top-ranked team. Quick rebound required with Johnny Football coming to town this week.
Up next: vs. Texas A&M (6-2, 3-2), Saturday, 11 a.m. CT/ESPN.

4.] Ole Miss (Sept. 29: UA 33, Ole Miss 14)
Last week: 5
Top recruit Robert Nkemdiche and family set to visit Georgia this weekend -- to watch son/brother Denzel play for the Rebels (5-3, 2-2). I don't think Ole Miss, one win away from bowl eligibility, will upset the Dawgs, but hungover UGA will keep it interesting.
Up next: at Georgia (7-1, 5-1), Saturday, 3:30 p.m. CT/CBS.

5.] Michigan (Sept. 1: UA 41, UM 14)
Last week: 4
Remember when Denard Robinson was the favorite to win the Heisman? Remember when Brady Hoke was the toast of Ann Arbor? Seems like years ago for Wolverines (5-3), 23-9 losers at Nebraska last week,
Up next: at Minnesota (5-3), Saturday, 11 a.m. CT/BTN.

6.] Tennessee (Oct. 20: UA 44, UT 13)
Last week's ranking: 7
Vols (3-5, 0-5) are one of the few teams who catch a break in the schedule when November rolls around. Derek Dooley era may come down to road game at Vandy on the 17th.
Up next: vs. Troy (4-4), Saturday, Noon ET/FSN.

7.] Arkansas (Sept. 15: UA 52, Arkansas 0)
Last week: 6
Fresh off a home loss to Ole Miss, don't be surprised if Razorbacks (3-5, 2-3) drop second game of the season to non-AQ opponent.
Up next: vs. Tulsa (7-1), Saturday, 11:21 a.m. CT/SECN.

8.] Western Kentucky (Sept. 8: UA 35, WKU 0)
Last week: 8
Hilltoppers (6-2) get four turnovers from FIU to win ugly. Bowl game chances hinge on tonight's home game with Blue Raiders.
Up next: vs. Middle Tennessee (5-3), tonight, 8:15 p.m. CT/ESPNU.

9.] Missouri (Oct. 13: UA 42, MU 10)
Last week: 9
Visit from UK produces first SEC win for Mizzou (4-3, 1-3). Now it's back to the real world.
Up next: at Florida (7-1, 6-1), Saturday, Noon ET/ESPN2.

10.] Auburn (Tuscaloosa, Nov. 24)
Last week: 10
Wait a minute. CSS does SEC games? Live? Wow. Learn something new every week.
Up next: vs. New Mexico State (1-7), Saturday, 11:30 a.m. CT/CSS.

11.] Florida Atlantic (Sept. 22: UA 40, FAU 7)
Last week: 11
Owls (2-7) knockoff Troy for first FBS win under Carl Pelini. Quality of Auburn's lone win (ULM) keeps Tigers ahead of FAU in poll.
Up next: at Navy (5-3), Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET/CBS Sports.

12.] Western Carolina (Tuscaloosa, Nov. 17)
Last week: 12
Catamounts fall again, this time to rival Appalachian State, 38-27. ASU's backup quarterback completed first 20 passes against WCU defense. AJ McCarron's efficiency rating is Catamounts' biggest fan.
Up next: vs. Chattanooga (4-3), Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET.
