TRips: Wednesday

Kouandjio will be joined by his brother, Cyrus, on the UA offensive line this fall.

Breaking down the Crimson Tide roster three players at a time:

59 OL Arie Kouandjio (rFr.)
2010 season: Scout team member while redshirting.
2011 spring practice: Worked behind D.J. Fluker at right tackle ... Saw action with first group after Fluker was injured in A-Day scrimmage.
What he brings to the table: Prototype right tackle size ... Depth provider who possesses SEC starter ability ... Koandjio's presence will push Fluker to improve and he can also play guard if needed.

61 OG Anthony Steen (So.)
2010 season: Checked in for an injured Barrett Jones early in the Mississippi State game and started the next two weeks against Georgia State and Auburn.
2011 spring practice: Steen stepped in as the starter at right guard after Jones moved over to left tackle near the close of spring drills ... Ozzie Newsome Most Improved Freshman Award recipient.
What he brings to the table: Steen's continued development paves the way for Jones to take over at left tackle if another candidate doesn't emerge at the position ... Worst remembered for the Auburn catastrophe, but this is a young player with next level talent ... Adds athleticism and strength to the interior of the offensive line ... Can also provide depth at center in a pinch.

62 NT Brandon Ivory (rFr.)
2010 season: Scout team member while redshirting.
2011 spring practice: A more defined Ivory looked to have made solid strides in transforming his body after an initial run through the Fourth Quarter program ... Worked behind Josh Chapman and Nick Gentry at nose tackle ... Credited with an assisted tackle in A-Day scrimmage.
What he brings to the table: Smart, hard working player who should be in the mix following the departures of seniors Chapman and Gentry ... Good lateral quickness for a big man.
