Top 12 Tiders

Each week during the football season, we'll offer up our top 12 players on the Crimson Tide roster. Please note that this list isn't based solely on the previous week's performances. Instead, it's based on a number of factors, including season-long production.

With a team-leading 89 tackles in 11 games, CJ Mosley has nearly doubled the stops of his closest competitors.

1.] LB CJ Mosley (last week: 1)
WCU: Defensive player of the week honors from UA coaching staff after posted six tackles, including one for loss. Led the team in stops for the eighth time this season.
Season to date: Leads the team in tackles with 89 stops, a total that outdistances his closest competitors (Nico Johnson and Vinnie Sunseri) by a whopping 39 stops. A nine-time recipient of player of the week honors from the UA coaching staff, Mosley is one of seven UA defenders to record an interception this season. Tied for team lead in sacks with four. Mosley is a Bednarik Award and Butkus Award semifinalist.

2.] CB Dee Milliner (2)
WCU: Posted one solo tackle in limited action against the Catamounts. The junior checks in at No. 11 overall on Mel Kiper's latest big board for the 2013 NFL Draft. Was named a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy (national defensive player of the year) earlier in the week.
Season to date: Leads the team in pass breakups (14), passes defended (16) and is one of six players to record multiple interceptions. Ranks eighth among FBS defenders in passes defended at 1.6 per game. Five interceptions and 23 pass breakups over the last two seasons are most by any UA defender. Semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, which annually goes to college football's top defensive player, and the Jim Thorpe Award, which is awarded to the game's top defensive back.

3.] OG Chance Warmack (3)
WCU: Offensive player of the week honors from UA coaching staff after dominant performance against undermanned WCU defense. The junior checks in at No. 6 overall on Mel Kiper's latest big board for the 2013 NFL Draft.
Season to date: Eleven starts at left guard to push his consecutive starts streak to 37 in a row. Two-time SEC offensive lineman of the week (Arkansas and Mississippi State).

4.] C Barrett Jones (4)
WCU: Spearheaded an offensive line that helped running backs Eddie Lacy and TJ Yeldon pile up 154 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Season to date: Eleven starts this season to push his career total to 47. Player of the week honors from the UA coaching staff for his efforts against Missouri.

5.] QB AJ McCarron (5)
WCU: Other than first quarter mishandling of a handoff attempts, clean performance for the junior, who completed all six of his pass attempts for 133 yards and a touchdown. Scoring toss to Christion Jones in the second quarter set UA single-season mark for touchdown passes.
Season to date: In eleven starts, completed 163 of 244 (67 percent) passes for 2,291 yards and 21 touchdowns with two interceptions. Passer efficiency rating of 168.2 ranks second in the SEC and seventh nationally. McCarron is a finalist for the Johnny Unitas (top quarterback) and Walter Camp (college football's most outstanding player) Awards.

6.] OT DJ Fluker (6)
WCU: After a break in the action against an FCS foe, Fluker will get a challenge this week from Auburn defensive end Dee Ford, who leads the Tigers in sacks (six) and ranks second in quarterback hurries (eight).
Season to date: Eleven starts at right tackle to push his career total to 33. Player of the week honors from UA coaching staff following wins over Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss and LSU.

7.] WR Amari Cooper (7)
WCU: Made his sixth straight start, catching two passes for a team-high 50 yards against the Catamounts, with a long reception of 36 yards.
Season to date: Leads UA in receptions (40), receiving yards (658) and touchdown receptions (six). Has caught four passes or more in six of Alabama's last eight games. Two-time offensive player of the week selection by the UA coaching staff and two-time 247Sports National True Freshman of the Week.

8.] TE Michael Williams (8)
WCU: Second straight game with a reception of 20 yards or more, this one covering 22 yards in the first quarter. Had first and second level blocks on touchdown runs by Lacy and Yeldon. One of three offensive performers named players of the week by the UA coaching staff.
Season to date: Eleven starts to push his career total to 37. Eighteen receptions for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Player of the week honors from the UA coaching staff following wins over Mississippi State and WCU.

9.] NT Jesse Williams (9)
WCU: Three assisted tackles against the Catamounts, giving him 17 total stops in his last three games. Important matchup with AU center Reese Dismukes this week.
Season to date: Start against WCU was his 23rd in 24 career games at Alabama. Recorded 31 total tackles, including 2.5 for loss, two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal.

10.] RB Eddie Lacy (10)
WCU: Team-high 99 rushing yards and three scores in the win. Averaged 9.9 yards per tote, with a long run of 21 yards.
Season to date: Team leader in rushing yards (870); all-purpose yards (94.1 ypg) and total touchdowns (13). Eighteen receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown.

11.] Damion Square (11)
WCU: Didn't record a tackle but was credited with a quarterback hurry, his seventh of the season.
Season to date: Recorded 31 total tackles, including 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Seven quarterback hurries are a team high. Started all eleven games, giving him 31 for his UA career.

12.] OT Cyrus Kouandjio (12)
WCU: Didn't give up a sack or a quarterback hurry against the Catamounts. Showdown with AU defensive Corey Lemonier looms this week.
Season to date: Started all eleven games. Picked up offensive player of the week honors from UA coaching staff following win over LSU.
