We're being told by a couple of people close to the situation that quarterback Phillip Ely is set for spring practice, is enjoying his time with the Crimson Tide and isn't planning to transfer to another school much less South Florida.
So, in short, at least for now he's not going anywhere.

Big Picture.....he gets four or five NATL champ rings as backup. Gets degree.....connections....option goes south FLO and starts... Gets degree from S FLO .... In four years which is better option

With all due respect ...... He is a valued member of the football team and CNS recruited him to be such realizing the good/bad with him potentially being a student/athlete for the next 4/5 years. IF CNS did not believe that ELY would be able to contribute both on/off the field the way he expects his players too for 4/5 years I would believe that he never would have received a scholarship to begin with. CHEERS!

Lack of any real talent?
Didn't know cns awarded scholarships to no talent hacks. What years did you "lead your team to championships". Rather have him on scholly representing the school I love to cheer for than the 4 that was just released.

I think it's simple if he has a shot to play he can stay, if he's third or fourth on the depth chart it would be great for him to transfer
No need to get too worked up over this, it's sports in a big time arena. Only in first grade does everybody get a trophy
