No doubt about it we need a signing day fax cam and fax cam talent. Lucky said he would provide.

Trust me, Lucky knows how to evaluate talent. I'll leave that up to him.

  • Then I have no further request other than maybe a game highlight archive. Where we can go back and watch highlights of games. We need more video updates for sure.

More video is on the way. Organized Q&As - ok sounds good.

Coverage of other sports. Here's the thing - and I hate to be negative - but you guys really don't read the things we post on other sports. A perfect example was softball. The live threads got thousands of hits -- you all wanted to know the scores. The gamers got maybe a couple of hundred until the postseason, and then they still got nowhere near numbers as the live threads.

Basketball, I think we covered every home game, and the majority of home baseball games.

But if we did more on other sports, what are we talking about, features? News (Grant keeps things very, very tight, so that's a big reason you don't see more)? Columns?

Maybe Coach Grant would have a certain day of the week that he/his staff gives information to pass on. We would all know for instance, that Tues might always have news about the basketball team. It could be something as simple as a weekly bio/focus about each player.

This could be the case for any sport. I really enjoy the stories that tell us more about the players personally. I am not just referring to football. I loved ladies gymnastics this year. You could have a weekly feature about one of the ladies sports.

I love Alabama football more that most men do, (just ask my husband!) but Alabama sports goes way beyond football. We should celebrate the success of all sports!!

Yes, a story now and then about other sports would be great! Look, I joined this site for football recruiting (like 99.9% of everyone) but I would love this site to be my one stop for Bama information. What about contests for members with the winner receiving a free membership for a month (if legal). Something similar to March madness but could be for different sports or trivia?

Chris I always like the personal interest stories. When you can access a player or coach, what do they like to do when not doing football. It's tough to get this info because your exposure is limited, but these special stories like the Jones' going on mission trips, etc are really great for me as it lets you see a side that makes these guys more like the rest of us.

I'm with you on that - I'm always looking for those kinds of stories.

Chris I assume like the freshman that assistant coaches are still off limits. I wish we could get stories on each of them. Their backgrounds, roles, what they love about Bama and working w/ CNS, etc

  • I'd like to see an in-depth look at our opponents for the upcoming week, and detailed matchups (objectively and your opinions). Looking at UF week last year, there were to Trips articles giving "three matchups" for the O and D in that game, and it was probably 2-3 pages long. By the UT game, we got two Trips articles that were about a page each. While interesting, in truth it really just ended up being a summary of who their key players were, and measured talent vs. talent. It would be great to get a schematic and statistical look at how the teams compare, and one of the coolest things that you guys have done is when you get the staff of the opposing site to trade-off on a game analysis. We can all look up rosters and statistics, but it's the insights and perspectives this staff brings to the table that makes you guys great, and the more you bring the better I think your product becomes.

  • How about a weekly or bi-weekly staff commitment predictions on players we are targeting, and an explanation? I dont know how others would feel about that but I know I would read that article every time it came out.

Can't do that, the game have copyrights. We can't even film any parts of the game. Sounds good, though.

Every year I ask to do a feature on each assistant coach and every year I get turned down.

Which reminds me, I need to make that request again.

Here's the problem with me specifically doing that.

I'm the guy who is in the media room each and every day dealing with the players.

The first time I write that the opposition has the advantage over an Alabama player the guy seeks me out, tells me that I'm full of you-know-what and then refuses to ever talk with me again. Considering how little access we get it's the last thing I want to do.

(A specific example came to me after my initial post. How well do you think it would have went over if I had written before the national championship game that Marquis Maze vs. the Honey Badger was an advantage for LSU? See my point?)

However, if you read the stories during the days leading up to the games, there are a lot of subtle references about what are expected got be the key matchups.

I like this stuff too. It gives insight into player personality and their life experiences. Gives us more to pull for.
