He never felt comfortable with greyshirt offer. Initially looked like he was okay with it, but our contacts at Vigor said he was very confused this morning so this isn't a surprise.

Good luck to him, he had options and he took one of them. He and Taylor will be in situations where they will see the field, best wishes to both.

I was looking forward to watch DP progress Thur the years. I think he will have a very good career at Arky and wish him well except when we play them.

Sucks, I really liked Darius, thought he'd end up being a star for us at DE.

That seems to be the case. He was ok with it but Arkansas gave him something to think about. It's hard to stay home for a semester when your classmates are leaving. I'm happy for him

Question is...how long did he know about the grayshirt offer? If it was only 2 weeks, like it has been rumored, then shame on our staff. That is wrong on so many levels and the bad PR will be well deserved. Grayshirting is not a bad practice and an offer to play ball is still an offer. No one doubts that. Communication and timing is the problem and that starts with Saban. If a kid knows about the grayshirt possibilty up front and he wants to roll the dice, then that is a personal decision. You can't drop this on a kid 2-4 weeks before signing day. If I'm the kid's high school coach, I'm royally pissed right now. Bama can't afford to continue this practice.
