  • Watching Belue on that return got me to thinking, why haven't we seen him in the return game?

  • If they don't end this halftime show soon I may stab myself in the eye with a spork

  • Halftime notes:

QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH NICK SABAN

“We wanted the guys to play to a standard, which in the last couple of weeks we haven’t played to. I think we’ve done that today. We just have to keep doing it and play for 60 minutes, which is another standard we have around here regardless of who is playing in the game.”

    NOTES

GAME CAPTAINS: Alabama’s captains for the Western Carolina game were C.J. Mosley, Eddie Lacy and Jeremy Shelley. Alabama won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff.

TIDE 58-3 UNDER SABAN WHEN LEADING AT THE HALF: Alabama enters halftime with a 42-0 lead over Western Carolina. The Crimson Tide is 58-3 when leading at the half under head coach Nick Saban.

FIRST QUARTER POINTS: Alabama scored 21 points in the first quarter against Western Carolina. It is the third time this season the Crimson Tide has posted a 21-0 advantage in the opening quarter (Michigan & Missouri). UA has outscored its opponents, 125-26 in the first quarter.

42 FIRST HALF POINTS: Alabama scored 42 first half points against Western Carolina. The 42 points are the most scored in the first half this season and the most since the Tide put 42 on the board against Georgia State on Nov. 18, 2010.

McCARRON SETS SINGLE SEASON PASSING TD MARK: Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron claimed sole possession of the single season passing touchdown record as he connected with Christion Jones on a 29-yard touchdown in the second quarter for his 21st on the year. He entered the game tied with Greg McElroy (2010) on the single season list.

    RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS

Alabama has scored at least one rushing touchdown in all but one game this season. The Tide has scored two or more in eight games, including six in a row. Eddie Lacy tallied three touchdowns in the first half, the third time this season he has found the endzone three times on the ground.

FIRST HALF SHUTOUTS: Alabama enters the locker room at the half with a 42-0 lead over Western Carolina. The Crimson Tide has now kept opponents off the scoreboard five times in the first half this season.

NON-OFFENSIVE TOUCHDOWNS: Alabama defensive back Deion Belue returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown. It was the first fumble returned for a touchdown this season for the Tide and the third non-offensive touchdown on the season (C.J. Mosley, INT & Christion Jones KR).

    SCORING STREAK CONTINUES

With Eddie Lacy’s 7-yard touchdown run on the opening drive against Western Carolina, Alabama raised its current total of consecutive games in which it scored to 153 – the longest streak in program

The Johnny Football stuff is driving me nuts. No one to blame but ourselves.

That segment did get me thinking, though. If Kevin Sumlin, Mike Tomlin, and Omar Epps were all in a room, would anyone on earth be able to tell who's who?

Mainly a breakdown only in first quarter--we had multiple opportunities to win if we had played mistake free football.
