  • Fulton will practice some today. A couple of other guys not full speed, but expect everyone to be good by tomorrow.

  • "Unless we win the next game, we don't have another game."

Saban already trying to deflect all talk but playing Auburn. Iron Bowl is a big deal, legendary game.

  • Two good running backs. New quarterback, becoming effective. Good receivers. Probably one of the best teams we've faced in terms of special teams.

  • Asked about Colorado State games - Saban doesn't confirm anything. When we sign a contract to let you know.

  • WR injuries - has been an issue. Hopefully this week Kevin Norwood will be back, we'll be a little better this year.

  • LB evaluation: CJ has done really well. Nico hasn't had snaps because of the style of opponents. (He doesn't mention the outside linebackers).

Christion Jones is the punt returner - there is no rotation. Mistakes have been fundamentals. Top priority is possession of the ball. We're taking too many risks.

  • (Saban is very much on-guard today).

He's talking about emotions and being stressed about things you can't control. "None of these things are bad thing. "Nobody is taking you out behind the barn and shooting you" because you get to play in a big game.

    Yikes.

  • On Dooley getting fired and Chizik on the hot seat.

It is what is it, he says about the pressures of the job. Adds that he thinks Chizik has done a good job at Auburn. Whether I like it or not, it's the world we live in. Two years from now if we're not successful it'll be me.

  • One turnover the last three games.

If I knew why we aren't getting them we'd do what was necessary. We're doing the same things and continue to emphasize it.

I'm sure he loves the job Chiz has done at Auburn.

  • Do you enjoy this week?

I enjoy coaching. I enjoy the opportunity. This is what you work for, that's what's fun. As coaches, we need to be positive and energetic. Can't be uptight.

  • As a team haven't thrown the ball as well. Not a lot of continuity among receivers. Sort of different circumstances each week. It's a combination of things, not necessarily about AJ McCarron. Focus is on trying to improve.

TJ has played extremely well for us at times. Been mature about the role that he has, and handled it as a young player. Has done a really good job for the most part. Ball security is important for everyone on offense. We're extremely pleased with what he's done.

  • Distractions being at home this week? Yeah. Starts off talking about the media.

The bigger the game, the more the distractions.

  • Final question is about Nico Johnson's leadership.

Cares about the team, loves to play football, good competitor. Takes a lot of pride and always goes about it the right way.

Has anyone asked him about Lou Holtz's public comments from the Post-TAMU game? I wonder if this is perhaps a bit of a response to that moron...?

Where you guys getting that crap from? Sounds like to me a man enjoying the moment. I'm sure everyone else is hyped after getting back in the NC game but he's the same guy as last week.

His answers were a bit combative, combined with Walsh's statement that CNS was "very much on-guard". Also his answer about being next if Alabama isn't winning in two years.
