Actually, I think a lot of us are missing the bigger point. Saban has suspended them indefinitely, which he certainly has the power to do, but in the end he shouldn't have to kick them off because they should be expelled from the University. That's the bigger picture, and that may be why they haven't been kicked off the team yet. Just kick them out of school altogether.

I practiced criminal law for 23 years. Handled 1,500 felonies. Been there, done that. Due process means literally the right to be heard. Nothing more, nothing less. I've seen admissions not be such, same with confessions. We don't know any of the circumstances -particularly who said what, if anything -if the players were "Miranda 'ed", if there was force, fraud, false promises, etc., used to obtain the statements. Crazy things happen in situations like this.
It's fair and fitting that Coach Saban suspends them indefinitely until the facts are known. He's that much more of a man ( that has earned our respect) that he's letting the prosecution develop the case as the evidence warrants. He and UA have legal obligations re students attending the university regardless.
We can all be assured he'll do what's right when in his mind, the time is right. Bad situation that clearly appears on its face to be more consequential than just the players standing on the football team. Let's see how it plays out- even if the concept of innocent until proven guilty or the presumption of innocence - seems to some to not apply to this . (Now the 'ol coot near Dothan that abducted the young boy from the school bus can be seen in an entirely different light- that was self-evident ).

Get a grip people. Coach has more experience dealing with this than any of us. You know he wants to be in control of the situation and he can't be until he gets all of the details and that probably includes talking to the players in person. I trust him to do what is necessary, but also don't expect him to do anything permanent before he gets back on campus. Hopefully he won't cut his vacation short, he deserves one, and doing so wouldn't change the ultimate outcome anyway.
