*** Tough loss but a request

    BOLers,

Tough loss for the Tide. To the surprise of many, much of the LSU game carried over this Saturday. A&M played and coached a great game. Props to the Aggies ... the season for the Tide is far from over. Please keep the discussion civil and no personal attacks to players. Thanks, Shannon

    Amen.

Then what happens when LSU runs it down our throats?

Really only team on our schedule that would do that. & they ran for over 100yds. last weekend. College football is going the way of the spread.

If we run the ball when its 1st and goal, instead of failed pass plays, 90% sure we win. His play calling the last 2 games has been horrible, trying to change our identity.

Have to agree--what is the message to your O-line when you can't run it in from the 7 yd line?

    Classy post Lucky.

I'm still predicting 2 of the 3 undefeateds lose before the end of the season, likely Kansas St and Notre Dame.

The "blessing in disguise" is that this game will prepare us for Oregon. Have to play our smaller, faster, better conditioned personnel against teams like A&M and Oregon. CNS and Smart will learn from this game.

Honestly missed most of the game and haven't had chance to watch it yet. How much did moseley play? That kid needs to be on the field more IMO.

Really don't want to go to Miami if we're 12-1.

14-0 or bust at this point under Saban. Anything less than 14-0 and I'm just no satisfied.

Kidding right...if we go...by God and win a title...it's just as good.

  • I agree! Why piss Saban off? I guess some want another Gene Chizik or Shula years!

I won't disagree, but if AJ makes 2 of 7 clutch throws, we win that ball game, NOT all on Nuss.

You are wrong. AJ made several "clutch throws." You want 2 of 7 on clutch throws? The perfect throw to Cooper in the 4th for a TD was a clutch throw. The bomb to Bell with 4 minutes to go was a clutch throw and put the team on the 6 yard line, perfectly positioned to win the game. AJ finished with over 300 yards and somewhere right on a 60% completion rates. He threw for one TD and 2 interceptions, but one of those interceptions was unquestionably NOT his fault as the ball hit Bell perfectly in the hands and on his number, and the second was hardly his fault as the play called for a 3 step drop and a quick throw; there was no second option. We are having the best QB play in well over 40 years, arguably the best QB play since Stabler.

When an Alabama QB puts his team at the 6 yard line, first and ten with 4 minutes to play, and that Alabama team has the best offensive line in the nation and NFL caliber running backs, yet that team fails to score and win because it ran 3 pass plays and only 1 running play, the fault does not lie with the QB. For whatever reason, coaches occasionally make bad calls and lose games. Ask Les Miles. In Alabama's case on Saturday, it happened to our OC.

But focus on the positive. If we beat GA and win the SEC, we will only need 2 teams to lose for us to be in Miami playing for everything. Bryant only had 3 undefeated teams in 25 years, or once every 8 years on average. Go back and review those losses in the 70s when we had so many one loss teams. You will find we could have won several of them, particularly the ones against Notre Dame. Alabama is in the middle of a dynasty and the Tide is clearly the best team in football over the past 5 years with the best players and best coaches. Time to move on and hope a few teams lose. Last year, we needed more losses than we need now and we got them. Let's hope fortune favors us again.

Ok ---- I can see your point.

But please also report when writing the stories in the coming week -------- why we did NOT have to lose. And try and find out why we abandon the run especially when it was so successful.

Also - why the number 1 team in America with the proclaimed best O line in America after a 1st down at the 5 ----- decided to do what they did?

Yeah we need to be civil and me included ------- but we also need not sunshine pump this loss.....

It did not have to happen..... Most of it was PURE coaching mistakes from our OC and SC and NOT carry over from LSU

  • To Devon 97--yes the Aggies have played 9 weeks in a row, but consider their last two games. Their starters didn't play the second half against Mississippi State ( whom Bama had already deflated); and as a Texas sportswriter commmented, the Auburn game was like a bye.

Still, we had our chances and couldn't dig all the way out of the first quarter debacle.

  • Not going to bash players I love my team. It is very hard to repeat. We are still thr best University in the land period. But we habe to get some faster DE and CB,s. I enjoyed being at the game and on my way home to Texas. We hard two hard games with MS and LSU its hard to get up for this one

  • I was at the game and during breaks there was some serious trash talking with the a&m receivers at our DB's . I hope 25 & 13 are there next year for some redemption . 13 stayed in Fultons face . The thing I noticed was the confusion or argueing between our DB's , just something I'm not use to seeing . CJ is the man , he just can't do it all by himself. A loss is a loss and take it like a man. Hopefully this was a eye opener for some players and coaches .

  • The team and coaches have to shake this one off and win out. Maybe the dominoes will fall right. RTR!
