Ok, with the Combine finally here I thought this might be an interesting debate.
This is what we had from Kirkpatrick's combine and Pro Day last year:
Combine:
40-yard dash: 4.51
Bench: NP
Vertical jump: 35.0
Broad jump: 120.0
3-cone drill: NP
20-yard shuttle: NP
60-yard shuttle: NP
Notes: Kirkpatrick had to answer questions about his January arrest for marijuana possession, which have since been dropped. “It was me being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he said. “The guy that left the marijuana in the car turned himself in and didn’t want to put me in a bad situation. He signed an affidavit saying that I was unaware of the marijuana being in the car and I was unaware of it.” Kirkpatrick measured 6-1 5/8, with arms 30 5/8. His official time of 4.51 shouldn’t hurt him because it was just out of the top 10 for defensive backs, just .1 behind LSU’s Morris Claiborne, who is widely considered the top cornerback ahead of Kirkpatrick and Janoris Jenkins. “Claiborne is more a more natural man-to-man defender,” Mayock said. “Kirkpatrick has tremendous zone awareness. Some people think he can be a free safety. I think Claiborne you can plug in and play in just about any defense. He has a better overall package then Kirkpatrick.”
Pro Day
20-yard shuttle: 5.1
3-cone: 7.58
60-yard shuttle: 11.75
Notable: Had some trouble running the short shuttle, and had to attempt it a few times.
Kirkpatrick was the No. 17 player selected last year, by Cincinnati.

I take Dee. Love DreK length but like Dee in everything else, more fluid, technique, toughness, and tackling.

Dre is built better to cover NFL receivers. That said, I think Dee plays better technique and is probably faster but has less range. Tough choice.

thats a real tough question for me. I think Dee is more of a student of the game, more cerebral than Dre'. He has the speed that few corners his size do. Dre' on the other hand is the most natural looking corner I have ever seen in college and you just never see one that is nearly 6'2". Dre' has a swagger about him that I tend to dislike, but in the NFL and at his position, I think it pays dividends. Because of his size, I go with swagga....

I think Dee is a better cover guy and while both are aggressive when tackling I think Dre tackles better. I would personally go with Dee.

Dee, better speed and strength.
Kirkpatrick, more instinctive and better skills. His inability to remain healthy weakens my argument. Desperately, needs weight room. Never benefited from Cochran's expertise because of untimely surgeries while at the Capstone.

Milliner. I think Dre looks the part better, but I think Dee will have the better pro career.

Dee and it isn't even close. Dee could completly shut his man down. Dre struggled at times and often got beat deep. I think Milliner is going to be the single hardest guy to replace on our team from last year.

It's very close, and Dre didn't often get beat deep. He got beat deep against UF and maybe one or two other times all year.

If Dre measured in at 6' 1-5/8", I'm betting on Dee measuring in at 6' 1/2". I think is the more natural cover corner, more athletic, great speed, but Dre is the more physically gifted, has great height/length, but sometimes goes for the HR instead of playing sound. No wrong answer here, but have my money on Dee, plus Dre played on a better overall "D", and that also helped him out tremendously, just imagine Dee with Barron over the top....
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.

Geez, to listen to you guys Dre was a scrub. #17 overall pick. #2 DB. I remember him being an all American DB on the best defense in modern college football history. No knock on Dee. I think they are pretty close play wise

Dee got burned deep in game 1 this year...saying it isn't close is very short sighted.

Dee. Really liked his game. He was always in the play. You had to make an incredible throw to get it around him.

Going Dee. Dee is more physical and has better top end speed. Dre may have better change of direction and certainly has the right swag to play corner. I am a little partial to Kareem than either of them though.
