3 Scenarios to the BCSNCG

  • 1. Lsu looses to Arky and the hogs jump lsu in the polls. Under that scenario, Bama would win the head to head with Arkansas and go on to the SECCG. Assuming we beat Georgia in SECCG, we play in the BCSCG.

    2. Oklahoma St. looses and Bama continues to win. I think we edge out the sooners and ducks and play Lsu for re-match in BCSCG.

    3. Bama continues to win and Oklahoma st. continues to win - Lsu looses to Georgia in SECCG. Bama could jump lsu and play for all the marbles since neither team would have won their conference.

    Thoughts??

  • The problem we will face is the national media largely doesn't want a LSU/Bama rematch. It was a tough game to watch if you weren't a fan of one of the teams. The final poll will likely show that bias if OSU loses.

Also you'll see a portion of the voters not wanting a non conference winner in the game. In 2007, Georgia was 4th in Harris and LSU 5th going into final weekend. The top two teams lost the final weekend. LSU leapfrocked UGA to #2 and went to title game.

  • Doesn't really matter what the media thinks; it matters what the computers think. I don't think LSU will lose so it's gonna be up to OU.

Actually it does matter. Human voters account for 2/3rds of the BCS while computers only 1/3.

  • Jmo but I would be surprised if tge media didn't want a rematch just because of A) the controversy if they gave it to us and B) the ratings

The talking heads would be all over it and they can sway a lot of opinions.

Only one of those polls is the media; the other is coaches. And coaches are notorious for not really caring what the media says.
