1) lack of offensive identity: It's a weave cut offense that creates openings in the lane or open treys. Unless a team is playing a zone, I know bama will run the weave cut offense... Zone, don't have anyone to consistently attack from the middle or low post.
2) CAG does not recruit juco big men... Oh,, Moussa is juco big man... please name me 2 juco big men that are contributing on a high level this or last year. Pierre Jackson is the only guard I can think of. Transfers are the new thing and I never read were any of these transfer were willing to sit out a year to play at Bama. The only juco big man that has been productive the pass coule of years is Ricardo Ratliffe,,, and If I recall correctly, Ratliffe pick Missouri over Arkansas and Bama..
3) Why hasn't Obasohan played more?... The kid was lost in December. I remember reading on this board that Grant should not play Obasohan until he is ready to play D1 basketball.

Don't come in here talking all this common sense. Dont you know Grant has dreamed up an offense that keeps us from scoring?
I also agree on Lacey. He is very limited on the floor. He gets lost if not handling the ball. I could easily see Rele stating at 1 next year with Retin at the 2. with some guys improving in the off season and if one of the incoming guys are ready, you could see None of the big 4 recruiting class starting next year.

Wow, downvoted for this?
I am not putting down Lacey, he is what he is. That is a good SG that needs to get better at setting himself off screens to get his shot and work on getting separation to get shots off.
I could easily see a starting five of Engstrom, Hale, Pollard, Retin and Releford.
That is if Hale is ready and Pollard/ Retin improve. That would give us scorers and athletic ability at all spots but the 5 and he is serviceable. I think jacobs and Lacey would be in the mix with one heck of a bench and the heat could be turned up.
I am not saying Cooper, Randolph, Lacey and Jacobs are bad, just that the competition for playing time should be much better next year.
Wish we could find a late diamond in the rough PG for this class.

Sadly, it is rare that we get up a good shot after a timeout, Grant's set plays have lacked a lot this year. Now one can blame that on not having an inside game to create a play around, not having anyone on the court that requires a double team on our team, or the weak way that we set and use screens most of the time. But regardless, our offensive production out of a timeout has been pretty poor this year.

Please stop it...you are on overkill. Everyone know's that you don't care or want CAG to be the coach. A lot of objective people can fairly assess your motives and basketball acumen. You don't have to continually harp, bitch and moan because, NO MATTER how much you and others complain about CAG, you are NOT creating a maelstrom that even hints at CAG being on the proverbial "coaching hot seat."
It's time to summon the power of positive thoughts, attitudes and energy into the presence of Alabama basketball and BOL...

okie dokie booms, not like I have been saying things that have been untrue or anything. Heck, I'm one of the few anti-Grant posters that has been willing to admit that I expect us to be good next year which means Grant will get at minimum a 6th year.
And it's not like you have been over the top with some of your reasons why Grant has been doing a great job or anything (sarcasm implied). It's not like you said in a thread that Grant had Chicken Sh*t to work with when he got here, and when I said compare the rosters from year 1 to this year, your response changed from Grant having Chicken Sh*t when he got here to Grant just being given players that didn't fit his system. Nothing over the top there at all.
BTW, if I really thought Grant was willing to change, adapt, and improve as a coach instead of Grant thinking he was doing everything correctly and nothing needed to change I would still be on the Grant bandwagon. In Grant's world he does everything right. It's just injuries, players not buying in, or just plain bad luck he has not been as successful as he could have been here so far. Hard to be positive until a coach realizes his weaknesses and tries to improve them, until Grant does that we are going to get the same things year in and year out from him.
I'll make a deal with you, if all our players actually at the minimum show up in shape next year for the start of the season, I will cut off the negative chatter on Grant in November and December and give Grant till January to use the entire OOC schedule next year to show improvement. I will even give a pass on Engstrom since he is coming off of knee surgery.
