A Few Bama Football Predictions

  • Just a few thoughts that I think have a good chance of happening...
    1) I know Brent Calloway is currently playing Will, but I predict he will be Bama's starting Sam at some point next year. Great athlete and a good fit for that position.
    2) Predicting Ryan Vogler beats out Jones to be our starting H Back.
    3) Starting three wideouts will be White, Bell, and Norwood
    4) Leading receiver next season will be Bell
    5) Dee Hart will beat out Jalston Fowler by the end of spring to be the #2 running back

It'll be hard to not pick my boy Christian Jones to start at WR. Way out in front of White IMO. CJ is just more reliable. Jmho bro. No flame. Never understood why Kevin didn't get more pt last year. I thought he was good enough to play in 2010 but I'll always differ to the man CNS

    Great thread.

*** Hearing that Dee Hart is considered one of those rare types. Betting he figures heavily in the plan and rotation.

*** Can't wait to see the receivers. We all saw it ... chemistry between Norwood and AJ. He's not the vertical threat of Bell and White but he could be that go to guy every quarterback needs. The scouting report on him is good routes and great hands from what I understand.

Every indication from Saban last Spring. Pretty much told us Dee Hart was gonna have a role last year. Of course he injured the knee. If he's all the way back from the injury. I see him having a major role in our offense this season. & of course that means a pretty good player's role will be lessened to some degree.

  • Awesome Thread...

***I think Adrian Hubbard will be huge surprise, and will hold onto the spot from Dickson/Anderson.

***Marvin Shinn will see a lot of PT this year.

***Vinnie starts at Safety, and we see hardly any drop off from Barron (as crazy as that sounds).

***Nico becomes the vocal leader on defense

  • Lucky, staff, or anyone that knows, whats the word on Harts knee. I know he has had plenty of time to heal and everyhting but does he have his quickness back and his cutting ability?

I would personally be shocked if Bell was our leading receiver next season. He's a homerun threat, but he's not a guy I see consistently catching a lot of balls.

  • --Norwood leads team in receptions

--Bell leads team in yards per reception

--Fowler gets most of the carries inside the 10 and on short yardage situations this season

--Hart is our 2nd quarter starter

--I'm hoping that Miliner gets a swagger now that he is returning to the 1st grouping

AH a surprise? I'm thinking it will be a surprise if he doesn't perform iyam. The word is already out on AH

I think Milliner will take it to a new level this year. Such a sick athlete.

  • My predictions

    1. Dee Hart makes an impact out the backfield (btw my brother has been around him siince he stepped on campus, seen him almost everyday, dont worry about his height, this kid is a bowling ball) I know i hate the comparisons to him but Micheal Dyer is what my brother said he reminds him off (physically)

    2. Landon Collins makes a huge statement sometime this year

    3. Lester leads the team in pics and puts his name in record books

    4. Trey DePriest has a huge year

    5. Vinnie and LC combine to make the first tackle of the year

  • Not a knock on the other guys, but it seems like everyone not only expects Fowler to get passed by Hart and TJ, but they want it to happen.

This guy averaged nearly 7 ypc running mainly behind our second string lineman (albeit our second string would probably be first string on about 80% of FBS programs) with a defense knowing full well that we were going to run the ball nearly every play. Chris mentioned in an earlier article that he doesn't have any receptions--heck, he probably hasn't been on the field when we've thrown the ball, let alone with him leaving the backfield as a receiver.

Like Coffee, he may not be flashy, but he just gets the job done in a Jacob-Hester type of way. Again, not tyring to knock on other guys, but I just like the way this guy runs the ball and think it's a bit premature to underestimate him.

Nobody wants Fowler to get passed. But I think we've already seen Fowler's role on this team imho. He's been doing it for two years now. He's the "perfect back" for finishing off teams in the 4th qtr. If he's not doing it? Then who is?

Double edged sword. Fowler also did his damage running against defenses that had already been beaten to death by Trent, Lacy, and our first team OL. Regardless, I think Fowler will see lots of PT and have a great impact. I really like the thought of him as an H-Back. I think the staff could be very creative with his skill set from that position.

Agree, but guys like Sims weren't nearly as effective in the 4th quarter. There were plenty of times when TR was still running behind our 1st team line late in games to finish teams off in similar situations, and he didn't fare as well as JF. In no way am I saying that the two players are equal; I'm just saying that you have to give a guy credit for running the way he did when the entire stadium knew what was coming.

  • - Quinton Dial has a big season and either leads or is in the top 2 on the team in sacks..

    - We return 5 kickoffs/punts for a touchdown on the season.. Our possible returners are absolutely sick..

    - Amari Cooper has at least 30 receptions and 5 touchdowns on the season.. TNFL- I think you're dead on with this guys talent.. A lot of people are really excited about him..

    - Reggie Ragland will have a significant role, maybe not a starter, but will play a lot of meaningful snaps on defense..

Not Sims role bro. LOL... he was simply in for some reps only imo.

I agree with you. It would not surprise me if, by the end of the season, Hart has the most touches in the backfield.

Sims is a different animal. He's learning to be a running back, and he's not there yet. If Trent was still running in the 4th quarter, then he has been running the whole game, whereas Fowler would come in fresh against a tired defense. But again, I'm not taking anything away from how Fowler played. He did an excellent job, and I'm not ready to concede that anybody is going to be ahead of him other than Lacy.

  • I expect D Hart to be 1b in the running back rotation even more so than a clear #2.

Dial and Fanning both arrive on the scene and make names for themselves.

Nico leads the team in tackles, easily.

Williams is first UA pick in next year's draft.

I like somebody else's pick and feel it's a safe one, Sunseri is in on the first tackle of the season.

Alabama produces two 1,000 yard backs next season.
