  • He really needs one more year imo. My reasoning is simple.I don't want him to leave!!

  • I'm not sure I agree with their reasoning. Putting aside the fact I think he's consistently played fine against edge rushers, staying a fifth year isn't going to see him making a gigantic jump in athletic ability and make him a franchise NFL left tackle.

Yeah, I really wish we could keep him for one more year but I don't think its gunna happen. I believe he knows he is likely not a first rounder but I believe he comes from a family that needs him to go on and go. Still pretty dang good money in rounds 2-4 so I can't blame him.

  • Yep but if your gonna dream, dream big!(and he is definitely BIG). ;)

  • Just cant imagine that some team wouldnt draft him in the 2nd round and plug him in at guard for the next ten years. As dominating as he is as a run blocker I would move him inside and forget about it. He might struggle some against the outside rushers of the NFL but he would be fine on the inside.

  • Amazing how he went from at top 5-10 draft pick to now being talked about 2nd and even 4th round. If he was smart, he should stay one more year and help anchor a rebuilding line.

    J Kirkpatrick

  • That is a load of crap. The proof is in the pudding. I want him back next year as much as anyone, but that is a crap evaluation. We have all seen the games this year. Enough said. DJ will be an excellent pro.

If you have watched him then you have seen him beat inside so this guys evaluation is not far off. I certainly would not call him unathletic and like someone else said he's make a heckuva guard. I'm not an NFL fan but I'm pretty sure that some guards have gone really high in the draft of late.

I've seen Luke Joekel get beat too. Fluker is plenty athletic, he struggles with smaller guys bc he's too big to get his hands on them. But he routinely shuts down great, long sec DEs like Mingo. If he's fast enough to keep mingo from going around he's fast enough to keeo anybody.

More to his weaknesses against short guys.... This is why fluker will struggle against western carolina but absolutely dominate mingo.
