I remember seeing film on Trent and Eddie in high school as well. I thought at that time Eddie was way more elusive than Trent, but Trent was more powerful. Both were very good and if ya'll remember if Eddie would have gotten in earlier than right before practice, he might have contributed as a true freshman. I think, if he can stay healthy (been hurt a lot) I think he will be very productive. Some people are just injury prone and I'm afraid he is one. Not a knock on him, it could simply be that way. Many promising players have had their careers plagued by injuries and never got untracked with the potential they had.

Also the news about Coach Saban makes me ecstatic. Bama could not have a better and more natural coach. Everyone hates Bama and everyone hates Coach Saban; that is simply the fact. He was hated before he came to Bama and Bama was hated before he got here. It is a perfect marriage. Domination breeds hatemongers. When Coach Bryant was his age he was just getting his 2nd wind and hopefully he will have a run like that. He's already off to a good start.

Maybe the stuff about Depriest is bogus. I hope so. RTR!

Oh ... here's some more stuff ...

The Alabama staff doesn't use terms like "sleeper" but you get the feeling that if you had to name one recruit that slid under the radar it would be Sumter Co, York, Alabama defensive tackle Darren Lake.

247Sports rated Lake a 87 and a 3 star prospect. I think most of the other recruiting services were probably around the same.

Lake originally made his mark at the Tide camp and he was a no-brainer take from that moment going forward. Its hard to say if/when Lake will be ready to contribute the according to sources close to the Tide staff, the sky is the limit on this 3-star physical freak. He's going to have to play at the next level, but they have high hopes for this kid.

So, I guess he's my pick for "sleeper of the class" ;-)
