That's what I was thinking with all of this whining about "screwing" players over!? Srsly how is this much diff than a redshirt other than the kid doesn't have to worry about doing school work while on a grayshirt

It also delays a students ability to begin his college education and/or havr to pay for it out of pocket (remember we're still talking about college here not just football )
And for player's recuperating from injury it delays their access to superior care and rehab facilities. Limiting them to whatevet they have locally or thru their personal insurance.

No need to wax poetic about this grayshirt business. It's basically us telling a kid, "Hey, we like you, but not as much as the other guys, so could you wait until you join us?" You'll never see a grayshirt offer for a 5 star kid, but we expect the 3* kids to accept the opportunity just because it's Bama. Yes, we're a great program, but we can't slow play kids as if they're second fiddle and still expect them to go gaga over us when other schools are treating them as priorities.
