A plea to the Cleveland Browns

  • Don't draft Trent. I'm begging you. Cleveland is the black hole of life. Trent is a good guy. He deserves better. Cleveland is for Colt McCoy and his ilk.. A place you can brag about your son playing NFL ball and try to avoid mentioning where. Raise your hand if when someone mentions The Great Depression, images of Cleveland doesn't pop up in your head. Go to any sports bar on the planet and they aren't even showing your games on TV. Even if you are playing the Patriots. Not even in Cleveland. Ozzie Newsome moved an entire franchise out of there! He is your legend? Lol.You made Jim Brown quit at the top of his game. His early retirement was a mystery to most. You and I both know why. Hint- he wasn't tired. Should I mention Lebron? If the rock and roll hall of fame would have been anywhere else, Guns and Roses would have reunited this weekend. Guarantee you that Axl was just scared of a flight delay or something keeping him there for more than a 30 minute performance. David West beat up the cavaliers mascot. Think about that. YOU HAVE A MASCOT ON IR! Trade your pick. Spare this kid. He grew up in Florida. People save their entire life to move from Cleveland to Florida. He is too young. Please..

I'm a Bama grad from Cleveland. The Browns are Cleveland's team. Trent would have "rock star" status there. The Cleveland Browns were leading the NFL in attendance when lowly Art Modell moved them to Baltimore. The Northeast Ohio area loves winners- that's all. When the Indians were "the team" in the late 1990's, they sold out their new Jacobs Field ballpark 455 straight games. A MLB record! Think of LeBron and the Cavs when they were winning- raucous!
They're getting a big-time full scale casino on Public Square in next year, lots of upgrades to downtown.
Bottom line, remember the tornado and the hope/ enthusiasm the Tide brought to the region.
That's what Trent and the Browns would/could do to Cleveland.
It's the perfect place for Trent to be a superstar!

  • I've been to Cleveland several times. It truly is the asshole of America. Worse than Detroit.

  • I hope they do. I would love to see Cleveland have a good football team again. That place deserves a good NFL team.

Elway killed them. They will never have a good team again. Ever.

Trent would immediately give them an extra blocker and receiver. I think they're close to being good on offense.

    +1 for you. Agree completely.

Cleveland will support this team if Trent goes there. Great opportunity for Trent. And as a Falcon fan, I don't want him in Tampa. :-)

  • i live in cleveland and can tell you it's not much different than bham. so don't beat your chest on a mountaintop...alabama is my home and beautiful and all...but not all areas are worthy of writing home about. cleveland NEEDS trent richardson. and the whole part about the browns games not being on television is a crock. the people in this community LOVE the browns and are for the most part huge fans...just sick of losing.

Does that make Pennsylvannia Mountain Brook?

  • When The Browns were moved to Baltimore the fans still tailgated downtown Cleveland on Sundays...without a team. They patiently waited for another chance and have been supporting this horrible team since their return. The town deserves a winner and Trent would be a great fit for the the city of Cleveland.

Why do you not want TR to go city where he will be idolized if he produces?

Don't really feel like turning this into a LBJ discussion, but bottom line is he, Wade, and Bosh had that planned for a long time. I always figured LBJ would leave Cleveland eventually but for New York. He could have still been "the guy" in NYC like he was in Cleveland. Going to Miami with those two was a coward move if he ever wants to be mentioned with the best to ever play the game.

  • Push Birmingham and Montgomery together. Then tell All the residents to take a crap in the streets.

    That's Cleveland.

  • For a "losing organization" the Browns have one of the largest sports-fan organizations in the country called the Browns Backers. Like I said before...A very passionate fan base.

  • I'd like to hear Colt weigh in on the situation.

I'm also seeing what the Vikings do with their 3rd round pick. I think they look at trading down and I could see a sleeper team grab Trent. I see the RB value in late rounds, but this draft hasn't really impressed me at that position. I also think there are some solid tackles available down the line from Kalil.

I'm also not sold on Blackmon being a 1A receiver. I think he has a very solid career as a possession receiver but I'm not convinced of his vertical game at the next level. Don't think he's as good as AJ Green or Julio last year.
