A question for the average fan

  • I have read a few current players tweets on the arrests topic. Why are so many of them defending them? Have I missed something of importance in the confirmed info? I was out of pocket all afternoon/evening yesterday but did catch some tweets from some current guys and I was taken back to say the least. Just curious if I missed something. Thanks boys!

I haven't seen anything from any of our players supporting the actions of those four; if you have please post it because it would be new to me. All I've seen are tweets saying that they are still "boys" and stuff like that and a tweet or too telling people on twitter to lay off. I see nothing wrong with standing by your friends/teammates and supporting them in hopes that they will turn their lives around as long as they do not condone their actions (which they have not that I have seen).

Fulton "These are gonna be my boys regardless of this"
Just off top of my head, Cant remember em all but just being friends is one thing, but taking up support for it is another. How can you forget about the victims? I mean, have a heart ya know. just my 2 cents. Means nothing in the long run I know.

  • That's all you got, there is a difference in supporting your friend and teammate and supporting the actions. Frankly unless you got something else then you are looking for something to complain about. And by "so many", did you mean TWO. You don't seem to taken back if those are the two tweets you remember. As a general rule for players, recruits and anyone else, don't take twitter to serious. Of course what do I know I have never read a single tweet.

I understand the struggle some of these kids go through and although I do not condone there actions and will first pray for and think of the victims, I would be there for these guys if they were my friends, teammates or family.

  • Well if one of my best friends screwed up I know that they would still be my friend. You don't dump friends cause of one mistake... And "they don't know the struggle" well he's right, we don't know all that happened we just know the police report and articles. We don't know what went on in their heads or why they did it. I think everyone knows what they did was wrong and I don't see any tweets "defending" them just supporting them as their friends

  • I would hope that if i did something really stupid, that my friends and family would not disown me. does not mean one bit that they approve of what I did but they or we should not shut the door on them. I for one am one of the ones that is saying, "if they are guilty then they deserve their punishment - prison...." nuff said!!! we all know they won't play football at Alabama - that dream is over. now they might be in prison for 2-10 years...

if they also repent of these wrongs, i'm also taught to forgive them. and i can't help but think they thought this was cool and funny... and pretty soon, they won't. they will need someone to talk to, someone to help them thru what is about to happen to them. friends and family....

I hope those boys don't disown them.

but i don't see anyone taking up for what they did at all. that would be messed up.

Ball is only a freshman. I expect that both, along with the rest of the team, will learn very quickly what an appropriate response should be.
