A scenario to tick off the whole country...again

What if Michigan beats Alabama in Sept. Michigan and Bama run the table. Then play again in the National Championship.
Bama winning 3 of 4 NCs & getting to have "redemption games" two years in a row for the crystal ball.
Just thoughts.

Serious my thoughts. First, the Nation would not like it at all. The BIg 10 might be somewhat satisfied to just get a team in the Championship game. But there are several issues with this premise....
1. Hard to buy in to UM beating BAMA. Just can't see it no matter how I might pretend.
2. UM is NOT going to run the table even after the BAMA game. Just can't see it.
3. BAMA, now I can see us getting back to the Title game and lets all be honest here.....IF we make it to the BCS game without winning our division first, then conference second....there will be a huge outcry against us. However, in order for us to not win our division, therefore not getting to Atlanta....means another team had a better year which squarely puts the 2 SEC teams right back in play (pretending again we are top 2 top 3 team) who just didn't win our division.
Very Very Unlikely. But, we have seen re-matches several times over the years in the Championship game and even when it was decided in all the bowls. Last years problem wasn't just that it was a re-match...no. It was that it was a re-match of 2 SEC teams with one losing that matchup and not being able to compete for its own Championship. If it were two teams from different conferences that both won its conference matching up - teams that played earlier in the season - we would NOT have heard a word about a re-match problem (unless the #3 ranked team deserved a shot to play as well). That's the only reason anything would be made of a rematch in this instance.

It's exactly why the current system is set up so that if you run the table - you control your own destiny. Unless your auburn I guess (g). Its the only way you are in somewhat control of your path. Otherwise, your depending on others - which is never an exact science or safe bet.
Going forward, the 4 team system will help this but we still will have debate/arguments over who is the 4th team and even how they should be seeded. Can't we hear it now - a one loss Big 10 team vs lets' use Arkansas from last year (only 2 losses were to Bama and LSU). The 1 loss team would most likely get in, but we could make a very good argument for any team in the SEC in that situation. It's why no matter what system College football comes up with - Conferences are NOT equal....therefore losses in each are NOT equal. But I guess we can say the same thing in all sports. Sometimes you find yourselves in a weak conference and your not going to apologize for that.

Michigan is a top ten team. Do I think we win... Yes, but to say mich has no chance is silly.
I never would have though south Carolina would beat us in 2010

A more likely scenario for a re-match would be for Alabama to beat Michigan. Then Michigan to run the Big 10 table.
