Nick Satan will help you get rich in the NFL, but Mark Rich is a good man, he don´t drank!!! He will be our coach for ever and ever amen. We don´t want players hung up on success. Me and my family thank the Music City Bowl is good enough anyways. Better to be .500 and in the heaven that is Athens, GA than .1000 and in the hell that is Tuscaloosa, Alabama

  • UGA’s top football recruit de-committed from the Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Derrick Henry, the 5-star tailback from Yulee, Fla., released a statement to recruiting reporters that he was backing off his UGA commitment from last summer.

Henry said he decided to re-open his recruiting because “I was probably a little too quick in making my initial decision and got caught up in the moment, so I apologize for that.”

Henry’s change of heart came after he spent a few days with Alabama’s Nick Saban on an unofficial visit last weekend.

UGA's top recruit, RB Derrick Henry, has de-committed from the Bulldogs (247sports.com)
If there’s any good news for UGA, it’s that Henry claims he is still considering the Bulldogs as he moves forward.

    Here’s the statement:

“This has been a great experience getting to know so many great coaches and visiting some of the best college football programs in the country. Even though I’ve worked really hard to put myself in this situation, I know I’m blessed to have this opportunity I’m very thankful for that.

“For me personally, this is one of the biggest decisions I’ll make in my life and probably the most important to this point. I want to be 100 percent sure I am making the best choice on where I go to college and to play football. I’m going to open up my recruitment and take some more visits, get as much information as I can, and then decide from there. I was probably a little too quick in making my initial decision and got caught up in the moment so I apologize for that. I’m still considering Georgia and I have nothing but great things to say about their program, but I want to be honest with everyone in the fact that I am going to go over all my options and do what is best for me and my athletic and academic career.

“For the rest of the summer, I am focusing on helping my team have the best season that we can have and achieve our team goals. Please refer any questions about my recruitment to my head coach. I’m not sure when I’ll make a final announcement, but when I have no doubts at all about where I’m going, I’ll let everyone know.

What’s next for UGA? With Henry’s decision, the Bulldogs drop down to 19 commitments for their 2013 class. He was the team’s only commitment at running back. UGA will likely turn up the intensity with other RB targets, including Alvin Kamara of Norcross High School. They will also continue to pursue Walton High School’s Tyren Jones, who is committed to Alabama — and told the AJC he would remain with the Crimson Tide even if Derrick Henry committed there, too.

CHECK BACK ANY MINUTE FOR ANOTHER COMMIT …

  • The best part about it is Dawg fans really believe that Crowell, Marshall, & Gurley are better then any back on our roster today. They should probably check the last few drafts. I see Eddie being the number back taken next year after a 1000 yard season. He'll put up 150 on Michigan. The "circle button" will be worn out in that game.

  • Well hope you are happy with a .500 winning percentage because thats where you will stay under current coaching staff.Im sure 99.9 percent of your bulldog fans dont feel the same way about Music City Bowl.As far as heaven and hell who are you to judge another human being on their relationship with God. If Georgia had a chance to hire Nick Saban your great coach would be fired so fast it would make your mascit Ugga # whatever have a stroke

Gotta love when your opponents are content with mediocrity. Their guns have officially been stuck in the dirt.
