Bingo--Memphis got dinged by the NCAA for essentially the same thing with Derrick Rose and his test scores. NCAA's argument was that the school should have done better diligence on its players, even though the clearinghouse approved him.

Of course she is stunned, that's what happens when good honest people are confronted with bald faced lies about them. The thing that needs to be considered is this. The NCAA had almost all the evidence they needed to hammer AU and Cam except someone to blab. They also lacked subpoena power and were afraid of AU's legal team. Plus, as others have mentioned, Slive didn't want to sacrifice AU because of the national championship run and all of the revenue the SEC would have lost.

Now, here's the difference, IMO. This could end up being a situation where the NCAA has someone to spill the beans and if they spill enough beans, then it can turn into a legal investigation (or may already be). I know that the players spilled the beans on the HBO special and I may end up being totally wrong on all this. But I think if it goes legal, then subpoena powers come into play.

There will come a day when an agency that couldn't care less about football will be put into a situation to uncover lots of dirt and this might be that situation. JMO

I'm not holding my breath but I will check BOL a couple times a day for updates. :D
