Alabama commit K Adam Griffith in action

Very impressive although not many kicks to view. However, most were straight down the pike or centered so the narrow college goalposts shouldn't be a problem. Height is excellent. Kicking off the ground is a huge plus because there won't be an adjustment to college level kicking. Of course, there are other factors such as wind, off center kicks, and crowd noise.

I remember well my son's admission that he was shaking like a leaf in a storm on his first game kick at Bama. But he said after that first one he blanked out the crowd noise and he was much calmer. He also said "icing" the kicker doesn't impact the kicker or at least it didn't affect him.

Can't wait to see Adam in action next year.

Uncalled for. No person feels worse about Saturday than Cade does right now.

As much pressure as he could face on the high school level last year in the Georgia Dome to send the state championship game to OT with :03 secs left Griffith drilled a 45 yarder. It was crushed too.

    nice to hear that. thanks.

I saw that kick. I have never heard a thud as loud as that when he kicked the ball. Never a doubt.

  • Kicking in practice is not the same as kicking in game. It's not about the leg it's about the head. I expect Foster to either lose it or be our kicker for rest of his career. He has he talent just needs to produce during the game like he does in practice. That said I'm glad we are offering scholarships to kickers again.

  • What kinda shoe is he wearing? Light blue tip on the kicking shoe. I am not saying hes using an aide so dont go crazy guys, just never seen that type/color shoe before from a kicker.

  • Two things I really liked here:
    1) The kid is kicking the ball off the ground
    2) The ball is getting height quick… no low trajectory kicks

Kid could be a great one.

I feel terrible for him. Could you imagine? I bet he knows exactly what he did wrong on every single one. I make meaningless mistakes and it bothers me for a while. The idea of feeling like I cost my team a national championship is insane. I'm glad we have a mental conditioning coach.

  • Awesome Thanks for the update. I know that we are not supose to say anything about the kicker, or their will be a post on here reminding us that we shouldn't say anything about the kicker, or to give up our tickets and punch ourselves in the testicles if we aren't going to give the kicker a standong ovation.. however I am going to take a chance and thank you for the update on Griffith I for one will be excited when he comes to campus

I assume you were trying to be funny/sarcastic/whatever...but I actually believe he will have a tough time beating out Cade. I think Cade will bounce back from the last game and be fine...ala Leigh Tiffin. Anyone remember his game at Arkansas? Pretty sure he left doing a pretty good job.

Been real close for sure. Kid a deadly from 55 in. He is 5-foot-9 at best and I was told yesterday he can dunk a volleyball on 10ft goal. So you can see the explosion he has. Great, Great, Great young man. Just goes about his business and does his job when called on.

i hope you are correct my friend we do need a kicker. however deadly with a kicking block and deadly from the grass is two completely different things. Block makes a huge difference. I wish they weren't allowed in high school, and college coaches could get a accurate judge of what a guy can do. I've seen players hit em from 30 and 40 with the block and can't kick an extra point from the ground. That is the case with our kicker on my high school team now.

maybe i missed something but what is the deal with the LSU pics on your posts?

  • As long as he isn't the scholarship waste that Cade Foster and Corey Smith have been so far. Foster's kickoff tackles are his only saving grace. Had real high hopes, but the kid has 0 accuracy and very inconsistant form.

  • Let's just hope the coaches remember we have kickers on staff and actually include them in practices.

Come on man! That's what message boards are for. I'm sure Cade doesn't get on here and read any of this and, if he does, I'm sure he has thicker skin than you. Going by your logic, this whole thread is uncalled for. Cade might see another thread about a kicker we're recruiting and get his feelings hurt. Honestly, had Cade made those kicks, would we be reading this thread right now?

He is really getting air under the ball and I like the h3ll outta that! Cuts down on the chance of getting blocked

This kid is waaaaayyyyy further along than the other 2. And it's not close IMO.

That is where I went to college. From the Huffman community in Birmingham. Graduated the same year as Andre Smith and a couple ahead of the Dareus brothers.
