"There’s still a small part of Alonzo Lawrence that wonders how different his path to the NFL might have been if he’d stuck it out at Alabama. Lawrence, a safety at Lions rookie mini-camp this weekend, was a former blue-chip prospect out of Mississippi who committed to Alabama, but never made it on the field."
"Lawrence says there are times he wonders what it would have been like to be a part of two championship teams at Alabama. He was in the same recruiting class as safety Mark Barron, who was selected seventh overall in this year’s draft by the Buccaneers.
“I look back at the rings and stuff and the fun they were having on TV, but I learned taking the dirt road and it made me grow up a lot,” Lawrence said. “I think the road I took was the right step for me in this situation.”
Got to have some smarts to go with physical ability if you want to play for CNS or in the NFL , same thing basically .
I wish the young man luck, there are some in life that seem to have tougher luck than others. I was one of the ones glad to see Alonzo come to Alabama and sorry to see him leave. I hope he has things sorted out and makes a good living for himself. RTR
Someone should show this to R. Foster so he doesn't end up watching Bama on TV winning championships like Lawrence...etc...
He is one of the biggest disappointing recruits of the CNS era too me! I really thought he would become a great player. I hope he make somthing out of his talent, if it not too late. Some people just have to learn the hard way, and it a hard lesson to learn!
Did Robbie Green get a shot with a team?
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
Hope he makes it!
Nice find. Just goes to show talent alone doesn't get you on the field, gotta know the system. Good luck to him
Lawrence's problems at Bama extended past the playing field. No legal problems, just immature and lazy with "The Process".
Best of luck to AL
If he becomes an all pro can we still claim him like Auburn claims Brandon Jacobs?
The way to a woman's mouth is through her phone.
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
