Am I the only one PUMPED about seeing #4 @ RB? >

  • "T.J. Yeldon, he's a great back," said outside linebacker Adrian Hubbard, who led the White defense. "He's built. He's strong. Everybody thinks he's a young guy, he doesn't know stuff, but that's a great kid. He's going to be great, somebody to watch out for."

The postgame buzz centered on Yeldon, who was committed to Auburn last year but flipped to Alabama in mid-December. With Trent Richardson skipping his senior season to play pro football and probably 2012 starter Eddie Lacy out for the spring with a foot injury, Yeldon went into the game behind bruising Jalston Fowler and flashy Dee Hart but outshined them both.

"He was the difference in the game for his team and made a lot of good plays and a lot of production," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "That's important for us, because we needed somebody like that. He has a really good opportunity."

Saban described Fowler and Hart as backs who can "do certain things."

"T.J.'s kind of one of those guys who can do everything," Saban said. "He's a good runner. He's got some power, he's got some speed. He's a really good receiver. Hopefully he'll continue to mature and have a pretty significant role in helping our offense next year."

What impresses nose guard Jesse Williams most about a player who is only a few months removed from high school?

"How explosive he is," Williams said. "Especially coming in, usually you have a lot of young guys coming in they're kind of scared. He runs pretty fearless and hits his holes pretty hard."

  • You never, NEVER hear Saban give praise like that to anyone, let alone a EE freshmen. He usually will say "He's got some great speed, but needs to work on pass blocking."

Nope I'm with you. I think he will get pleanty of playing time this year. I expect big things from him. Je will be another back that will only be there for three years.

Agree. TJ is a talented ball carrier but he will be LETHAL on swing and screen passes @ Bama. One on one with a defender will be unfair.

Last guy I remember Saban gushing on as true freshman was CJ Mosley, and we can all see why. I think he was pretty high on Dee Hart before he got injured as well.
