  • I'm going to provide a little support for the OP on this one. I was also wondering if we would take two RBs in this class since we landed two really good ones in the last class. Of course, we would all love to have 15 great RBs on the roster, but there's this pesky little problem of scholarship limits.

I don't think the OP's point was that we couldn't use more RB depth or that the two players committed in this class aren't great prospects. His point was that, with the limited amount of players we will be able to sign this year, it seems like we have more pressing needs such as QB, OL, CB, and DT. So the question is not whether or not it's a good thing to have an overloaded stable of great backs, the question is whether or not we have bigger needs at other positions. You add in the fact that we are reported to be in great shape with Bo Scarborough (maybe the top RB nationally in 2014) and it's not an unreasonable question.

All that being said, I'm absolutely thrilled with the two RBs we have committed and can't wait to see them destroying defenses on Saturdays. Now we just need a couple more big ugglies to blast a path for them.

  • LOL...what's going to be interesting is that the Tide will shock you all again with the class of 2014. I know all of you guys know Bo since he is local and a real talent at RB, but there is this other kid out there in Florida that many have seem to forgotten that if he comes back strong from knee injury this season will be arguably the best back in the nation....one Mr. Sony Michel. He was offered by Alabama as a freshman (along with just about everybody else) and was the star at American Heritage High School team since he was in the 8th grade. Yes, he was the star of the team that now also boasts Top 10 RB Greg Bryant (c/o 2013). My guess is old CNS would take both of these guys as well. I think you guys should get used to the 2 RB's a year scenario.
