Anybody remember that State game when Shelton scored 135 pts?

The 04 State performance at Coleman will never be repeated by an Alabama team. We beat them by 50 at home, then got a big road win at the hump in the season finale. That Gottfried team underachieved so much it wasn't even funny. We had so much talent, and ended up just being a 5 seed, before eventually being the 5 12 upset by losing to UW Milwaukee. The coach of that team was none other than Bruce Pearl. The 04 Alabama team should have been better than a 5 seed anyway. That 04 State game I will never forget. We could of beat the 98 Bulls that night. The SEC was so much better back then. The conference always received 7-8 bids on a yearly basis.

You things must be bad around here if it is causing us to reminisce about the good times from the Gottfried years! Wow.
Mo's last team should have been better but Coach Gottfried didn't manage personalities and personnel well. If I am not mistaken, that was the year that Kennedy Winston missed the first half of the season because of violations committed during his recruitment. He became eligible during the season. He inserted Winston into the lineup and killed team chemistry.

That was my favorite game of all time cause at the time I had an intense hatred of everything Miss State in bball. I still remember watching it at home and yelling for us to keep pouring it on at my TV.

Lol CE1976. Very true we have to relive the Gottfried glory years. A heartbreaking loss was the year before when Timmy Bowers beat us on a last second layup when we dominated the entire game. That's what made the 04 blowout so much sweeter. The west usually was won by us or state back then.

That UConn team was one of the best teams of the last 20 years. They played 1 close game the entire tournament. Ben Gordon, Okafor, Villanueva, Hilton Armstrong, Josh Boone, Marcus Williams, Denham Brown....................man. What a roster.

That is incredible

Worst part though was that Anderson was the guy that actually lit us up that day. Think he dropped 31. Couldn't miss, from real deep too.
