Apparently Tulane has Burns on their list

  • Can't blame them for trying to get the best RB coach in college football. He's also got major connections in Louisiana. Here's to hoping he passes, he's done a great job in Tuscaloosa.

We have to get into the mindset that other schools are going to come after each one of our Coach's. The SEC is starting to look like the Saban Excellent Career path for these guys.

  • I would really hate to lose him. Isnt he an older guy? Hopefully he has no interest in taking on that kind of responsibility.

  • I really don't see BB leaving for that job. Yes he is from NOLA but I just don't think he wants the headache of that job. It won't be for much more money than he is making now. Tulane ex-coach Toledo was the lowest paid FBS coach in the country. BB will get another nice raise this year, especially if he winds up coaching 2 heisman trophy winners in 3 years.

  • I could see this. More of a retirement with job witha chance to be back home and help out with no pressure at all. I think it sets up perfect for him.

  • Other than smart, cbb is the last position coach I would want to see leave. Hopefully they offer someone else so he doesn't have the option to accept.

  • Pay cut! He may be interested, OR he could stay-put and look for another Heisman RB to coach and win what, 2-3 more NC rings before he retires.....That or go to Tulane and be
fired after 3 years of butting his head against the wall with inferior talent, facilities and admin support. What would YOU do? Yeah, I thought so. Those 2-3 NC rings mounted over
the mantle will be a great retirement momento, too......RTR!

Well, he's from New Orleans and has great connections in Louisiana. If he wants to be a HC, this would be a pretty good opportunity for him, all things considered. There is no pressure at Tulane. That being said, I hope he stays. But I don't think it's quite as simple as you make it out to be.

  • It just depends on what he wants to do at this stage in his life.I dont think he would be payed any more at Tulane than what he is making now and at the end of the day Tulane is just a very tough place to win.Terrible facilities,no administrative support but its still a head job at a CUSA school in his historic home town.

    Leetider

  • I hope he stays, if not hire Barry Sanders, Sr.
