  • Can't understand how they have Richt ahead of Miles. Say what you want about Miles, but I'd take his resume over Richt's. I love that they have James Franklin after one six win season ahead of Chiz and his purchased NC.

  • I would take Miles over Richt anyday. I would take him over Petrino and Spurrier as well. Petrino can't recruit. Spurrier had a good year last year, but he's about had it.

IMO, take away John Chavis and LSU is in trouble. Take a look at LSU's record once Miles took over. He was successful initially with Saban's players and then they started to spiral downward. The started on an upward trend as soon as Chavis came on board in 2009. Look at how their defense has played the past 2-3 years in comparison to their offense [Miles has an offensive background].

As soon as Chavis leaves.....IF Miles remains at LSU I think they will again spiral downward.

    2005 LSU 11–2 7–1 1st (West) W Chick-fil-A 6 5
    2006 LSU 11–2 6–2 2nd (West) W Sugar† 3 3
    2007 LSU 12–2 6–2 1st (West) W BCS NCG† 1 1
    2008 LSU 8–5 3–5 3rd (West) W Chick-fil-A
    2009 LSU 9–4 5–3 2nd (West) L Capital One 17 17
    2010 LSU 11–2 6–2 T–2nd (West) W Cotton 8 8
    2011 LSU 13–1 8–0

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Wouldn't the layout look pretty similar with Richt and Van Gorder?

This is true, but how do we get Chavis to leave?

  • Think I agree with the Miles assessment. He has done less with more and is proving to be an underachiever. Only an unprecedented collapse by several teams allowed him a 2 loss shot at the National Title.

  • Had a conversation a few months ago with some buddies of mine:

Your university is in need of a new head coach. Any coach your heart desires will be on a plane and on your doorstep the very next day to take the job. Any coach from the college ranks or the NFL. Who do you choose? How hard of a choice is this?

Now. Take Nick Saban out of the equation. Who do you choose?

That's how fortunate we are right now, my friends.

    BamaInCC

  • What is crazy is that there are four coaches on that list that have won national titles, and two of them are burried at 6th and 9th. What other conference could even begin to say that?

Mullen at #5 is nuts. He's got a lot of charisma, but until the guy actually beats Alabama, Auburn, LSU, or Arkansas he doesn't belong anywhere near the top half of the league.
