BCS cups

  • Anyone have any extras they might sell? Really pissed me off they ran out of cups and programs before the game even started. Completely unacceptable. Looking for one for me and one for my pops. We were like the 3rd person in line at the stand after the gates opened and they said they already sold out. How does this happen??

  • I was in club section and kept buying beers. Wish now I had gotten a soda for the cups! Looked on eBay and saw where one cup was up to $34 with four days left. I won't make that mistake in Pasadena :)

  • Saw that too and I'm not paying forty bucks for a cup.

  • I will tell how you it happened. Two things led to the problem. One, poor planning by the Orange Bowl. Two, Notre Dame people went nuts & bought everything in sight for just about everybody they knew back home. It was their first NC game since 1988 & it showed. I saw one ND fan taking at least 8 to 10 programs back to his car about 5 hours before kickoff. There were massive lines at all the BCS merchandise locations outside the stadium....mostly filled with ND fans....5+ hours before kickoff. The only reason we were able to get programs is we did the UA Alumni Association pre-game thing that started 3 hours before the game inside the stadium. Thus, we got in an hour ahead of everyone else & were able to get programs before they ran out. We got our cups by going over to the ND sections late in the 4th quarter & grabbing some they left behind. It was frustrating.

  • They are used to having 20k each week for the dolphins games. The women in our group said there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms, ran out of cups before the game and pizza also. Someone said the programs were sold out 4hrs before the game. It was almost impossible to get a taxi after the game. We had to hop a private shuttle bus to South Beach which is not where we were going. Just had to get out of the stadium as fast as possible. The shuttle bus driver was super nice though, he stopped outside the stadium and got us a taxi to Hollywood. Overall except for the game it was horrible!!!

  • And the porta potty situation was bad! I remember rows of thirty in Pasadena. We had to walk a ways just to stand in line for 45 minutes and they were in groups of two. I would say they were not prepared but I am so grateful to have been there!

  • Planning was horrible. I called the orange bowl committee and spoke to marketing about it. She said sir I don't think you understand there were over 80k at this game. I laughed and said no I don't think you understand there's over a 100k in Tuscaloosa on gameday and we never run out of cups or programs. Told her its a crying shame you don't know how to plain for a game of this magnitude.

  • Programs were for sale on the orange bowl website back in december. That's how I bought mine. I didn't want to carry them around at the game. Also, Notre Dame fans bought everything they could. I guess I got lucky, there were plenty of cups in section 101.
