No question, this rumor didn't start on the BOL Round Table.
The guy from BR passed on a "rumor" and didn't provide a source, only to provide a source when it didn't look so good for him. Not good.

Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
Bama fans want Les Miles to stay so I doubt if it started on one of Bama's recruiting sites.
The rumor started on the LSU Rivals message board called the Penthouse. It spread from there. Not Alabama's fault.
He has done less with more talent than just anybody I can think of so why would we want him gone?
Very much a pot meet keetle situation today. Alot of finger pointing going on for bad journalism and the irony is the one's pointing fingers don't have their facts straight. There is no question this board was not the original source for the rumor.
I would like to tip my hat to the BOL family for trolling the hell out of LSU. ROLL TIDE!
OK, so I understand that we weren't first in talking about it and that it was a contrived story... But is it too late to ask why us speculating on a message board is wrong? It is not like the staff was reporting on it as a possibility, mostly it was just random posters joking about it or thinking about what would happen if it came true.
Writing on a message board is basically the same as talking to your friends in a bar. No one has any responsibility to fact check unless they are a mod. That's what a message board is!
Hmm, let's see, when have we seen something like this before? Some guy picks up some bullsh!t on another message board and repeats it here. Where? Oh, did Deadspin attribute it to one of our "insiders" citing unnamed sources?
