I think this game represented Coach Nuss really getting it that with Alabama's offense, just because everybody in the stadium knows you're going to run doesn't mean you shouldn't run.

You're right. I'll bet Saban explicitly tells him to run out of the shotgun on third and short, because that's how Saban traditionally does things.

Nuss had his hands tied a few times tonight. That drive that ended in an int after Lacy fumbled at the goal line was a good case. At first and goal at the 4 his job was on the line. If he would have passed on first or second down and we didnt get a td people would have been calling for his job and might have gotten it. After the A&M debacle UGA coaches should have known without a doubt those were going to be runs lol. We probably should have ran on third down but passing there was reasonable.

But when you have a team on skids like that you should have the wildcat ready a la Ingram vs Ole Miss 09 and go hurry up no huddle. We could have done that and gotten at least 3 yards a carry. Who cares if you have to go for it on fourth down a few times. Sometimes you have to trust what you are seeing and not trick yourself.
