At least thus far into their careers, but Amari Cooper is looking like a stud wheras DGB is looking a bit like a redshirt-needing dud.
Through 5 games
Receptions: DGB:7 Coop:17 Yards: DGB: 128 Coop:222 TDs: DGB: 1 Coop: 3
DGB did have an 80 yard TD, but with the comparison being between Alabama's ball control offense and Mizzou's high flying offense, I would say Coop looks at bit better at this point in his career.

a lot of the ratings go off of measurables(sp?) and potential. as you can see, DGB has Cooper (and just about any receiver in college or pro for that matter) whipped in that department. However, I think Cooper has the intangables needed to really succeed in this game. His attention to detail and ball skills seam to be some of the best in his class so far.

That's why it's very hard to trust the star rating system. You just never know how things will pan out in college. I'll never forget how crazy people were when J. Harris committed to us. There were many people out there that thought it was just as big, if not bigger, than signing Julio.

Just a hypothetical question meant as a compliment to our coaching staff. If AC had of went to Mizzou and DGB would have come to Alabama. Do you think the situation of which seems the better at this point may be reversed? I know I have all the faith in our development of players both on and off the field.

I think if the roles were reversed as you say... AC would be starting at Mizzou and DGB would be sitting here, imo. AC really has elite route running/intangibles... which probably makes him a bit more D1 ready as a true frosh. DGB will get there eventually.

DGB hasn't learned how to play receiver yet. Amari came from a great high school football program. You can tell the kid has been coached extremely well. He runs routes like a polished college player. A lot of that is talent. But, you can tell he came from a system that develops players. Watch DGB's highlights. Most of his touchdowns came from quick screens And jump balls in the endzone. He has size, speed and agility that you can't coach. He is very raw though. He was a five star that needed bama more than bama needed him.

I may be misremembering but wasnt all the talk last year about how "raw" AC was and how remedial their passing game was? Maybe i am incorrect, or maybe he's just more naturally refined than we gave him credit for.
So again, i could be 100% incorrect, but what you said seemed inconsistent with what i recall hearing during his recruitment

Bama landed a better WR last year
