Bama vs LSU, again? Don't laugh, a possibility

  • We win out over Auburn and Georgia....Florida loses to FSU (quite possible)...Texas beats KSU (quite possible, Texas is playing much better Lately)....Oregon loses to either Oregon State or PAC 12 championship game (definitely, quite possible)....USC beats ND (but not very possible, without Barkley).

HOWEVER, can you even picture? The pollsters, pundits, "talking heads", computers, general public would go absolutely BONKERS!!!! Very likely, BCS selection would break all the rules in order to prevent a rematch from happening (Imagine! This time it would be LSU not even winning their own conference).
The above scenario is NOT that impossible (As Saturday's events have proven...once, again).

As long as BAMA has (1) of the (2) spots in the BCSCG. I would prefer ND for several reasons....(1) I believe that we match up especially well against them (2) Payback for 1973 23-24, of course (and 1966 and a couple of others) RTR!!!!

  • Unless Stanford loses to UCLA, Oregon won't be in the PAC 12 championship game.

Oops! Your right....I had forgotten about that! However, from what I saw of UCLA and Jim Mora, against USC, that is also a distinct possibility, wouldn't you agree?

Also, it would be really hard for Stanford to maintain that same degree of 'emotional high' after such a big win against Oregon. Only natural that they'd be super primed for an upset the following week......aka, Bama after the dramatic win at LSU, etc.

Last night when projecting bowl teams, I also had forgotten about that. With one OT loss, Oregon drops not only from the BCSCG, but the Rose Bowl as well. Looks like the Fiesta against K-State for Oregon. Should be a heck of a game...for a consolation game.

At worst ND will have one loss. At best LSU will have two. LSU isn't gonna get in over ND.

LSU won't pass K-State, according to Brad Edwards.

If we win out, and that there aren't any other big upsets, I'm guessing the BCS will look something like this:

    BCSCG: Bama-ND
    Fiesta: KState-Oregon
    Rose: UCLA/Stanford-Nebr/Wisc
    Sugar: UGA/Florida/LSU-Oklahoma or Clemson
    Orange: FSU-Louisville/Rutgers

If we win out, there will be three at large bids and the Big East to place. The order of selection for those four teams would be this: Sugar, Fiesta, Sugar, Orange.

I have no idea who will end up in the Sugar. Lots of things will shake out next week. FSU-Florida, USCe-Clemson. After we beat what will be a #3 UGA, and if FSU beats Florida, will UGA drop below a #6 or #7 LSU? If there are no upsets, I think the KSU-Ore is the highest ranked matchup the Fiesta will be able to get. No questions about the Rose really...just a matter of who wins the conference championships. The Orange will get stuck with the Big East because they pick last. The Sugar is a real toss-up right now...of course, assuming we take care of business! If Oklahoma and Clemson win out and are still ranked one after the other, who does the Sugar pick? It will get interesting. Clemson is ranked right before Oklahoma and has one less loss, but I think Oklahoma would be a much more attractive selection for several reasons.
