Basketball

  • Not sure what is wrong with the basketball team but those of you that are thinking this is a tournament team are kidding yourselves. I know Vanderbilt is good and so is Kentucky but something doesn't seem right with this team. Not sure if players like Green and Mitchell are hurting the team more than helping. It is very frustrating to watch considering half the board was talking about how good this team was going to be. After tonight I am not going to get excited about basketball again this season. The team still can't shoot the ball. Why don't other teams ever struggle shooting. We struggle year after year. I do like Grant. I think he is a good coach. Anyone have any idea why we look so bad?

  • It's a lack of real veteran leadership. The truest leader on this team is Releford. We wanted to see a lot of leadership from Green and Mitchell but as good of players as they are it's obvious they are just too emotional to have that role.

  • We can still make the tourney due to non-conference schedule. We were sitting at a RPI of 20 going into the Vandy game, and it won't drop too far after losing to UK this weekend. We just can't have any slip ups against the terrible teams in the league. Look at the rest of the schedule, plenty of wins left as we are going through the toughest three game stretch of the season.

    JMO but the team seems to still be suffering from the Mark Gottfried recruits. I always thought Marks teams were, not sure of the right word here, spoiled maybe. No work ethic and didn't play hard, certain players had that poor me attitude. RTR
