Bball game tonight

  • I know Oregon st scores a ton of points but how good are they? Are we the favorites tonight?

  • I think it's a good match up. Other than them having the exp. edge on us. Gotta think we have the defense to slow them down. Simply put though. Our season overall will hinge on what we can get from our big 7ft guys. They at least have to rebound for us imho. & Jacobs needs to be more aggressive without fouling out every game.

  • Betting line is Bama (-2). Should be a good game, hopefully the outside shots are falling and we have to start getting some production from our bigs. They have been nonexistent thru 2 games.

  • Their HC is the President's Brother in Law. He's a pretty good coach too

Jacobs had such a promising post game last year. In the Kentucky game he basically owned Anthony Davis for half the game on offense. I know he has been limited by an injury but he has basically been a ghost, which is really bad considering we get nothing offensively from our twin towers

Bama's big men have a combined 2" veritcal. None of them get off the floor.

  • I watched OSU the other night playing New Mexico St and they look pretty average to me. I've watched all of Bama's games too and at times we look below average. Zero inside presence, and if the three point shot isn't falling we are in trouble. Plus we are just out of sync at the beginning of the game with Rele on the bench, maybe he's paid his dues and will be back in the starting line up tonight.

As far a the betting line (bama-2) I personally like OSU. Playing on the road in a big building with no one to go to down low...I just don't like our chances tonight. Gotta shoot the three well to win IMO. Hope we do.

And even less toughness and physicality

    Agree

I think almost as important as our shooting will be not committing 87 turnovers the first 5 minutes of the game

  • If we cant force turnovers, get on the break, and get defensive rebounds, we lose. Unless Jacobs shows up for the first time all year (though he's been injured), we have no one to go down low to. Pollard has 0 post game and is just a large Trevor Lacey at this point (last year's version of Lacey). This year's Lacey, Releford, Steele, and Randolph are our only hope and all of them have to be playing well, not great, but well for us to win.

  • How coach Grant basically has no inside presence players is a mystery to me and I am sure to many others as well. Our recruiting philosophy is strange to me....go after wing players, more wing players and 2 guards and not any strong forwards is not a good formula for success. This year could be a washout unless we are lights out on shooting.

  • Man i could've sworn we were playing Oregon instead of O St.

I imagine he is having a problem selling the program to recruits he wants. I don't understand how he couldn't recruit lights out with our superior facilities and rabid fan base.

    Sad but true

The only way to cure this is win games and have some guys scoring 15-20 per game

Gotta be in the tourney every year

I struggle with this question like you. It would make sense if we were running and gunning but we're not. We walk the ball up the court and play half court offense.Maybe we're going to play quicker as the year goes along. Right now we cant beat a good team with the collection of bigs we have unless we pick up the pace. We need to get out and run tonight.

We have 2 seven footers and I have not seen a dunk from either of them this year.

Well - our basketball facilities aren't that great and our fan base doesn't really care that much about basketball

We've offered three SFs for 2013, four for 2014, and our only 2015 offer is a SF. We just signed two post players yesterday. I think you may be a little bit spoiled when it comes to recruiting...we don't have an elite program (let alone the nation's best) in basketball. What we do have is WAY more competition than in football.
