Big 10 / PAC 10 Presidents may delay playoff approval

  • Drawing a line in the sand between them and the SEC/Big 12.

'Impasse' between conferences throws push for four-team playoff for a loss - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com News, Scores, Stats, Schedule and BCS Rankings

Remember all that optimism for a four-team playoff? That's pretty much gone now. Dennis Dodd reports from the latest BCS meetings that the Big Ten's and Pac-12's preference for a plus-one model is becoming an obstacle.

PAC 12 and Big 10 know they won't be in that group very often. Thus they are sucking their thumbs and throwing a hissy.

  • If they want to be the reason of no playoff again then so be it...has worked out well for us since the last time they balked

CFB is rotational. Pac12 will have some great teams with OU emerging and USC coming back. Big 10 added Nebraska which could be a large powerhouse under the right coach and UM is recruiting tops in the nation with OSU coming on with Meyer too. Everyone will have a fair shot.

  • Fine by me. As much as I'd love to see a 4 team playoff, we're doing just fine in the current layout, & would do just fine in a true +1 model as well, if it were to come down to staying in the current scenario or moving to a +1 model being the only 2 options.

We have, after all, won 6 in a row now, & I don't see any reason that dominance would come to an end. Cry all you want B1G/P12, just remember, it was your crying that suddenly sparked this debate in the 1st place.

  • The sec holds all the cards because the current system is great for us. So either accept our terms or stay the same. That's a win win for us.

Remember it's not the sec trying to change things.

  • "If you can't win your conference, you don't have the right to play for a National Championship, regardless of what conference your in. "

This is what one of the comments in the comment section. You would have 3 loss champions from the ACC and Big East going ahead every year of a one loss SEC team.

I mean seriously last year the SEC West at one point had the #1, #2, and #3 ranked team in the nations. Anybody who even try to make an arguement for this is either cleared looking for a way to keep SEC teams from winning or is clearly just an idiot.

  • where's the media? they are always there when it is Boise or TCU or the Big East with an undefeated team shouting to the highest level...what about ABC? ESPN " Herbie" & Mustburger, "Timmie B" they are quick to jump on CNS and never let up ....You're right Bolden 1983 ..."it is not hard"...four (4)BEST teams...RTR
