Bradley sylve

  • Anybody hearing how his development is coming? Special player with awesome speed. Haven't seen much on him even in the positional notebooks that have been released the last couple of weeks. Is he wr or a db thanks in advance.

Kirby said recently that he was coming along very nicely and was becoming a good player.

  • I dont remember any info on him about how he could possibly be moved to DB...wonder if it was a personal decision of him just wanting to play defense, or a depth chart issue...I always thought he would make the rotation with no problem with his speed and talent.

To slow on my posting...thanks for the info, Dny!

  • Ok, three things ...

    1) For about three weeks during the season we were the only ones to report that he had moved to defensive back (think it was the Arkansas game and then confirmed the Florida game when he made the trip). This wasn't a sudden move and he's now been there quite a file.

    2) Coming and going, defensive backs: http://alabama.247sports.com/Article/Coming-and-going-Defensive-backs-58085

    3) Here's a quote from Kirby Smart that we posted from earlier this month in New Orleans:

Q: Kirby, could you talk a couple of the younger guys on the defense, Trey DePriest and how he's come along and how Bradley Sylve transitioned since moving over?

A: Both those kids are talented kids. Trey's a young guy who came in early, so he's ahead of most young guys, he's got a spring extra on everybody. He's really learning the defense. Plays hard. Has great speed.
Again, he's got to get bigger, stronger, but he's a fast guy that can fly to the ball. We're looking for good things. He played really well on special teams. Glad we got him. He's the backup right now to Dont'a [Hightower].
And Bradley did a great job transitioning over. He didn't go to camp with us. He was a wideout, and now he's becoming a good corner for us, taking a lot of reps. Reminds me of a lot what Dre (Kirkpatrick) did when he was a freshman when we have Javi (Javier Arenas) and Kareem (Jackson) and all those guys. He's taken a lot of reps in learning the defense, which is really important, and we haven't had to play him.

    Hope that helps.
