Guys watch this video, starting closer to the 3 minute mark. This is Cade in high school and watch his approach to the ball and how fluid it is. Then take a look at how much slower and timid his approach is now. He was kicking the ball over 55 yards in high school and now has trouble getting it 50 yards 3 years later.

One obvious difference is in high school they use a tee, certainly not the first one who struggles with the transition.
Cade, hang in there and keep on working on your game.
I have noticed that his kicking motion(s) are not fluid at all. It's not one swift motion and it doesn't appear he puts his body weight behind any kicks (kick-off) especially
Most fg attempts if not all of them were off a tee also
difference is in college they kick off from the 30 not the 40......the guy has just gotten worse...when Adam Griffith comes in I hope he becomes our KICKER for short, long field goals and kickoffs. I am tired of having a sucky kicking game
His approach is a lot different, kickoffs and field goals. I was saying Sat, that he is the only kicker I have ever seen that trots to the ball on a field goal. He trots like he's kicking off...It's odd. In defense of his not being able to get the distance now like he did in highschool, well, he was more than likely kicking off of a 2" tee in highschool on fieldgoals. As an All-State kicker in highschool, let me tell you. it's a lot different. I could kick a 60-63 yard field goals off of a tee, but off of the ground I could barely reach it from 50.
What gets me is it seems he regressed in between this season and last season. Place HS aside for a minute, he was 7 of 9 kicking fgs last season.

Well if you notice his steps prior to kicking now, and maybe it is the diiference with and without the Tee, but his steps are shorter now. They are not as long to where he can get his leg extended like he did in HS. I was watching him practicing before the game. Maybe they asked him to change something I dont know. Just something to think about.
