Chizik vs. Wingnut

  • Honestly, I'm not sure why we are so worried with Auburn.

There are posts on here every day talking about an Auburn recruit, Auburn's program, and now the coaches. I understand it's the offseason and all, but we have bigger fish to fry now.

If we are going to talk like they are "little brother" and their program doesn't measure up to ours we need to stop talking about them day in and day out.

By comparison, if you want to know when they become irrelevant, how many UT threads are polluting the board every day? It's a lot like a scab. Quit picking it and it won't bleed.

A few opinions of mine to ponder relative to the intelligence of Tubberville, vs. the lack there of in Chizik.

Tubberville realizes he can't recruit against Saban in running pro-style attacks...what's he do? Changes to a spread so he doesn't have to compete with Alabama for recruits on a player to player basis...in my book, intelligent.

Chizik lands a once in a century player and makes a Mickey Mouse offense work leading it to a national title. The defensive minded coach all but ignores the defense, allows for an undisciplined approach, and also allows the majority of its best player's to reside on the offensive side of the ball. Said once in a century player leaves and the place goes to shite and what's he do?? Transition to a pro-style system on both sides of the ball. Ignorance of epic proportions because he now must compete with Bama for all recruits and must also do so in a smaller geographic area, all while not having the personnel currently to run that style program. We ran pro-sets when CMS was here and struggled to turn the corner and be successful in Saban's first season and we had a lot of the necessary players, just lacked discipline. What's going to happen when a even more undisciplined approach meets up with a gross lack of personnel???

    A failure of massive proportions...

    sounds reasonable to me.i agree

Worried...all I'll say is poor choice of words, it's anything but that. It's chit chat on a message board during the only week out of the entire calendar year where there are not regular major sports games scheduled. Your point on UT is accurate, I never believe that happens with AU...too many visitors on this board from across the state to let that happen.

It's like driving by a car wreck, you don't want to look but you just can't help it.

  • The short version is that Tubbs was a far better leader, coach and disciplinarian that Chiznik has or ever will be. Did I despise him as he flaunted his success of Bama? Of course, but he did what he was supposed to do while we were down...he beat us. If they had made it to the BCS title game he very well would have won a championship without having to pay 200k for a single player.

Better coach, better leader, but CHIZ is a far better cheater than Tubbs ever dreamed of being.

That scenario would not bother me one bit....RTR...I wouldn't be surprised if someone from the Barn(string pullers) hasn't already talked to Bobby Petrino.......

Well Petrino was in Alabama last night...granted, in Livingston. Brainstorming with UWA Coach Will Hall...

Even the good ones struggle...see Texas. More the reason I think AU is destined to possibly not make a bowl game.

Look, I totally agree that they will struggle this year on both sides of the ball but just by looking at their schedule, if they don't make a bowl gm how do you not fire him? Their offense this year should be dreadful. Wait, this new blocking back from Illinois And the newly intelligent scheme of putting tight ends in motion might just make me eat my words Hehe. Anyone predicting more than eight wins for them resides in Lee County.
