To me, this is worse than offering or receiving money for a service. He is basically using his positional power to influence someone to go to a school of his choice because he played there and my guess is AU most likely had a hand in it through him.
The NCAA needs to put in place some rules to address this issue. I guarantee you it happens more than we know where no money may have changed hands but the coach is an alum or fan of a certain school and tries to influence his players to go to his school of choice because that is simply what he wants.
