Ok this looks like the most civil thread on the board so I will join in. Just my opinions.
Overall college basketball is awful. The SEC is unwatchable out side of Florida. Grant is not gettSaing fired this year and probably not next year. There is not enough interest in basketball to make that happen, and maybe that is even more reason why he should be fired. Last years recruiting class led to this years team. Pollard is not ready to contribute in any way. I have wondered if another coaching approach would have kept Tony Mitchell from going pro and losing his mind last year. Same with JG. Last years team could have been really good. As it stands we will be about the same next year as this year. 2015 could be a good group of players which may make it easier at that time to bring in a high level coach.

I blame grant for the L but the officials for the way the game looked.
Grant should have fought for our players. He didnt.
There will never be a scenario where its on for refs to allow what they allowed tonight. However that's not an excuse for losing especially when the coach finished the game.

Lacey, Releford, Pollard, Jacobs, and Cooper ALL were scorers in high school. Don't tell me we don't have options....he has ruined these guys with hard nosed stubborn approach that focuses on points off turnovers.

Its hard to win with 4 guards and absolutely ZERO threat of scoring inside...Teams can defend the perimeter and not worry about anything inside...If we cant drive the ball we end up using clock taking a bad shot and don't have enough bigs to get offensive board.....If we can hit shots we can beat anyone in SEC but if we are cold we in big trouble.....Damn I wish Jamychael Green had some eligibility left....RTR

To which I say that when the opponent can play as physical as they played you are never going to score inside. We tried and and tried in the first half to score and/or draw fouls and the officials refused to call anything.
I honestly believe there was no excuse other than apathy for Coach Grant not being thrown out. He should he have gone to half court, sat down and refused to leave till they removed him.
Regardless of what went on our players needed their coach to stand up for them and he chose to sulk instead.

Scott, did you tape the game? If so rewatch the 1st half later in the week after the emotions of being in the moment of the game are gone. I think you will see that we weren't nearly as aggressive offensively when it came to doing things that would draw fouls as it seemed in the heat of the moment. Auburn was much more aggressive taking the ball to the hoop then we were in the first half, they just missed a lot of point blank shots.
You are right about one thing, Grant doesn't stand up for his players with the refs anymore. He did his 1st and 2nd years here. He doesn't anymore.

Oh, there is no way I would waste DVR space on our bball team. Too many reality redneck shows for that.
Seriously, the end of the first half would have gotten any coach with a passion booted. When he caved we caved.
