So soon after winning the BCSCG, Chizik is virtually bulletproof. 5-7 won't be enough. He would have to go something like 3-9 or 2-10, combined with staff in-fighting and bickering and even more serious player behavior problems, with some player defections. It would take a complete meltdown of the program.

5-7 definitely would put Chizik squarely on the hotseat going into 2013 though.

I agree with that Tennessee likely lets Dooley go, but I don't think they will hire Petrino. I think they look for a proven head coach with good recruiting skills. Petrino may end up at a power school in the future, but he's got a lot to prove to make that jump.

I agree that Arky does not renew Smith's contract - I think that was more or less understood up front absent a 10 win season and a stellar recruiting class - but Dabo won't get that job. Dabo, in fact, may have to fight to keep his own job.

Chiz and Richt will survive, as will Mack Brown (absent a complete comeapart in Austin). FSU will not make a move right now because this staff has shown they can recruit - gotta give them time to see if they can translate talent into wins. Same with Muschamp at UF.

Pertino will not have a job at a "traditional powerhouse" next season - he's gotta get his life straight in a verifible manner to land another multi-million job.

Tubs (not mentioned in OP's post) may have a hard time holding on at Texas Tech, and that doesn't look to me to be a good resume builder for a return to the SEC. Win 7/8 or maybe find yourself without a job Tommy.

SS could retire. I have no clue who would be interested in USCe. I want him to stay long enough for Bama to beat the crap outta the Cocks, and SS, a couple more times. How in the heck did we allow a Garcia led team beat us up there? That may be the most disgusted I have been at a Bama game since CNS came to the Capstone.

Wow... that's not a carousel, that's a tilt 'a-whirl! We have been very fortunate to have kept Kirby as long as we have, but this is surely the coming off-season he will take a solid offer. I wonder if CNS will again pick Sarkisian's pocket and nab his new Wash Huskies DC, Justin Wilcox? I sure hope Cheezit says at the barn.... he is a lousy coach, and it is inevitable that the barn recuriting violations will eventaully be exposed if this keeps up, and then they would be toast for the next ten years. If Mack Brown retires, I believe the Longhorns would go with their DC Manny Diaz. The Vols ought to be able to find a top young coach...I would steal the Vandy coach if I was their AD.
