Cody's block or TJ's touchdown!!!

  • I would say that these are the 2 biggest moments under Saban. Which would be the most important? The book is still to be written on this year but Bama running the table and repeating would make TJ's TD one of the biggest moments in Bama history. At the same time without Cody's block Bama's recent history might not look the way it does now.

    Both are equal if we win the National Championship, but this one is more meaningful to me cause it was against my most hated rival in their place after they thought they had it in the bag. I just can not stand LSU. Plus they are the only team that really should compete with us. UT was more of a wake up call. IMO

    Once is a typo. Twice means the OP doesn't know how to spell his name, which is really odd for someone who seems to follow the program so much.

    Spot on analysis. If Mt Cody's block wasn't memorable enough to get his name right, it doesn't qualify.

  • Clearly TJ. Because we at least were in the lead against UT when Cody got his block... and it would have been a long field goal. TJ's TD happened when we really had no hope left. Best moment in my Bama fanhood.

    Thanks, but I was referring more to the OP's numerous posts with recruiting info. Just seemed odd to me.

  • Have y'all forgotten the 2009 Iron Bowl in Auburn when we had to come from behind in the final 2 minutes with a GMac drive which culminated in a td throw to Roy Upchurch. I remember in that game that all of the *U fans stayed in the stadium cheering on their team because of their "moral" victory. That GMac drive to me was almost as good as the AJ drive last night.

  • Typo was honest mistake didn't realize it was being autocorrected.

    I think the block TC made at the current moment is bigger because of the results that year. If Bama runs the table this year TJ's TD will surpass that. Securing a back to back NC with that epic play will be hard to beat.

  • I lived in Maryland in 2009, where no one cared about Alabama (or college) football, and had we lost my anguish would have been private. I now live in Louisiana so purely for self-preservation reasons, I vote for TJ/AJ for rescuing me from a very unpleasant year with the LSU crowd. Although I completely agree that we have to see what happens the rest of the year to see how important it truly was.

  • I like TJ's over Cody's. Regardless of what happens the rest of the year, I was much more impressed and happy watching our TEAM find a way to stop LSU's offense, watch LSU's kicker miss, then drive down the field and win (not tie) last night.

    I don't recall enjoying a touchdown as much as I did last night .... and I've seen a bunch of them .... Alexander's swing pass for a win in Gainesville in 1999, Palmer's 2 point conversion against UT in 1993, Langham's interception TD in 1992, etc.

    I don't exactly know why, but Saban going up 4:3 on Miles, my brother being an LSU fan sitting 20 yards from Yeldon when he ran in, and knowing we have a chance to repeat somehow made this one the most special.

    *it wasn't a touchdown and not even a play because of a penalty but Teague running down and stripping the ball was the MOST elated a play ever made me (bar none). I started jumping up and down on my future father-in-law's sofa while screaming and didn't care that he (an Ole Miss fan) was looking at me cross. LOL!

    It wasn't just that it tore out LSU's heart---it tore out the ENTIRE non-SEC Nation's heart, all at once! The ENTIRE country was celebrating, rejoicing even...ready to crown their NEW NON-SEC champion, or at least get them ready to ordain.

    BUT, THAT one drive, especially the TJY TD---it just ruined it for so many. It had a much more widespread affect with farther reaching ramifications than did "rocky block" (although that was a close #2).

    However, we have to "finish the job", like the 2009 & 2011 teams did. There's no longer any room to breathe. No margin for error. The end of the season is coming. We're on 3rd, and it's 90 feet to home plate...
