Having two national champions during the same school year begs the question: Can this be considered the golden age of Crimson Tide athletics?

Some interesting parallels from the football and gymnastics national championships:
Both were won in a rivals' back yard. Football in New Orleans, gymnastics in Duluth, Ga.
LSU didn't cross the 50 until late and was then pushed back; Georgia's Gym Dogs didn't make the second day of the NCAA Meet. So essentially both were shut out.
In both cases, Alabama beat the SEC champion
In both cases, the SEC finished 1-2
Both teams had one regular-season loss

Man.......it just feels good to be a native of Alabama..........now when someone ask where I am from it is a lot easier to say...................... A L A B A M A.........Great job, Chris.....it started out like a novel.......then to history and a Cinderella story for young ladies...........RTR

This is clearly a golden age for Alabama football, but I'm not ready to proclaim it a golden age for Alabama sports until the basketball team is relevant again.
