how can he be ranked #10 in the nation on this site but #100, #120, and #82 on Rivals, Scout, and ESPN. Seems like a pretty large discrepancy to me...Thoughts?

Just means at this point the 247 analysts think more highly of him than the analysts from other sites. Recruiting is an inexact science.

also 247 does more frequent updates as they get new film and see kids in person...the other sites do a few updates a year. he will make a big jump at the end of the summer on the other sites
anthony averret is a top100 247 guy and hes a 3 star every where else...who knows

Farrel on rivals has already stated that they have him under valued and he will climb up to the 50-75 range next update and they will reassess as his size improves.
Farrell said he thinks he can play at bama in the 240-250 lb range. He weighed in at 244 during his bama visit so farrell may need to rethink that. Lol! Wont surprise me if he plays in the 260s.

it is better to wait till end of the year to look at other sites. You will notice a lot of them change rankings and look closer to 24/7. Allen is top 3 at his position no matter what the other sites say.

Your question was legit and interesting IMO. part of the fun of following recruiting is the evaluation process and how different people see it. Will be interesting to see how far the other sites move him up the board.

I appreciate everything that BOL and 247 does in terms of recruiting and program news - they are unmatched.
But as I've said before - if Saban and his staff evaluate a player and offer, then he fits some part of their system, and stars be damned. I still want to be ranked #1 in every service though.

I was just looking at this yesterday. Loogebill has Carl Lawson 5th in the country, not DE, overall. He is not even in the top 50 on any other site, including this one. You always have a few guys that everybody ranks differently. I bet Mr. Allen jumps up next time. Of course that will just be Alabama bias:)
